The Director of Health and Wellness Sales will be responsible for selling and promoting various clinical programs to Empire's commercial account prospects and existing clientele. This position will report directly to the Health Plan President and is a key stakeholder in both the design and maintenance of Empire's clinical product portfolio and go-to-market engagement strategy. Location: New York City, Albany or Long Island
Responsible for assisting clients in the clinical program selection process from start to finish, providing expert guidance to a variety of Small and Large Group employer types and brokers.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Provides leadership and strategic direction to ensure the health and wellness sales team meets and exceeds annual sales / retention / penetration targets for clinical products.
Develops broker / client engagement strategies, designed to maxi. mize value for Empire's clients on both alternate-funded and fully-insured product arrangements. Maintains a competitive intelligence repository and contributes to the annual strategic decision-making processes to positively influence our design of future clinical offerings. Communicates and markets product changes / launches to distribution channel partners.
Directs and motivates staff to achieve monthly and annual goals. Hires, trains, coaches, mentors, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports, creating a pipeline of future leaders.
Requires a BA/BS; 8-10 years of professional/leadership experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Excellent managerial and leadership skills required. Candidate must have a proven track record of strong sales and / or retention results in the group insurance industry.
