The Director of Enterprise Applications will manage, deliver, and support digital products and business applications for the Commercial, R&D, TechOps, Finance/Accounting, Legal, and HR functions. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and deep Biotech/Pharma IT experience. This position interacts with cross-functional business stakeholders to align strategies, manage expectations, and ensure our portfolio of digital products and applications meets the organization's needs. This role will use metrics to monitor the performance of IT products and services consumed by the business and seek opportunities to improve and innovate continuously.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business leaders to identify and implement technology solutions that drive the business and improve operational efficiency, with priority on the Commercial function followed by the broader organization, including R&D, TechOps, Finance/Accounting, Legal, and HR.

  • Manage the selection and implementation of critical business applications and ensure cost-effective and timely delivery.

  • Manage and support a portfolio of digital products and critical business applications, such as Salesforce, digital websites, Veeva CRM Suite, Veeva Vault Suite, Veeva eQMS, LMS, HRIS, etc.

  • Create and maintain the product & application roadmap based on collaboration with cross-functional teams and the evolving needs of the business. This includes defining project business cases, timelines, prioritization, and implementation plans.

  • Partner with the business stakeholders and technology teams (Data Mgt, CoreTech) on digital innovation and AI.

  • Develop SOPs, procedures, and policies to ensure robust operations, training, and control.

  • Develop and maintain the enterprise application architecture focusing on cybersecurity and improving business processes through optimization and innovation.

  • Implement best software development, integration, and deployment practices to enhance efficiency and reliability.

  • Evaluate, select, and manage technology vendors/partners, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.

  • Manage SOX and GxP Change Control processes and Release Management Cycles

  • Facilitates continuous alignment with relevant regulations with the markets and internal processes, procedures, and policies (Security, Privacy, Risks Quality & Compliance, SDLC ITPPM)

Supervision

Directs and oversees the activities of internal and external staff, including consultants and contractors.

Education & Licenses And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree/Master's degree (preferably Computer Science/Computer Information Systems)

  • At least 10 years of increasing leadership experience and exposure working at the intersection of biotech, information technology, product launch and Enterprise business operations.

  • Proven business relationship management skills and experience

  • Experience working in a regulated environment (FDA, GDPR, SOX and PHI).

  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent presentation and communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate complex problems in a non-technical and simplified manner to stakeholders and end-users and to effectively communicate business needs to technology teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary setting, acting as a creator and facilitator to drive fulfillment of IT strategic goals.

  • Ability to anticipate and resolve problems effectively.

  • PMP or other relevant certifications.

  • Veeva application suite (CRM, MedComms, PromoMats, Vault Quality Docs, eQMS, RIM)

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud

  • Website development and hosting: Wordpress, Drupal, Pantheon, OneTrust

  • HRIS and Learning Management Systems

  • GxP Systems validation

  • Azure Cloud architecture and native services

  • Dashboards/Reporting tools such as Tableau and Power BI,

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with little supervision

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities and responsibilities simultaneously and follow-through on issues in a timely manner

  • Proficient in the use of business productivity software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
