Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a Director Business Management 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
We are looking for a strong leader to influence the strategic direction of the Asset Management capability at Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (NGAS). This director will have overall responsibility for the effective performance of all asset management processes and controls to ensure NGAS capital, customer and US Government property are managed in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and best practices to achieve operational excellence. This position will be responsible to ensure that all NGAS asset management processes and controls remain effective per the DFARS (DOD Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement) Property Management Business System rule. NGAS is responsible for over $4 Billion of Government Property in addition to Capital Property. This position will lead a team of managers (6 direct reports) that have responsibility for the execution of the NGAS Sector's Property Management system, with the ability to implement strategic improvements to the system when appropriate based in part by collaboration with other Northrop Grumman sector counterparts. This position requires regular interface with senior executives and with U.S. Government representatives, as well as leading a Property Management team of approximately 50 property management professionals.
In this role, the selected candidate will:
Have full ownership and oversight of the Asset Management System for NGAS.
Administer asset operation control activities to ensure continual accountability of Government Property and Capital in accordance with applicable US Government regulations and company policies and procedures.
Develop and implement property administration policy and procedures that are compliant with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) property regulations.
Be the primary point of contact for Sector senior management, Corporate Internal Audit, and Customer Management Audit Organizations.
Provide leadership and guidance to the Property Management organization will be a critical aspect of the role.
Ensure that property accountability records and data bases are accurately maintained for all types of property, including property at subcontractors.
Oversee and ensure property self-assessment audits are regularly scheduled and conducted to cover all CAGE codes of the sector; providing guidance on US Government regulations pertaining to property accountability to other sector functions/organizations; ensuring continual awareness training of Property Focal Points is conducted; and ensuring department personnel are properly trained with a focus on continuing to develop and maintain a professional property management organization at the sector level.
Identify relevant performance metrics to continually assess the health of the organization.
Be an active participant, and a voting member, on the Northrop Grumman Corporate Property Council.
The primary locations include our Centers of Excellence in El Segundo, CA, Palmdale, CA, Redondo Beach, CA, Rancho Bernardo, CA, Melbourne, FL, St. Augustine, FL, and Bethpage, NY. This position is located out of Redondo Beach, CA.
Bachelor's Degree with 9 years of progressive property management or business management experience, which may include involvement with the ten property outcomes and US Government property control under FAR regulations.
Minimum of 5 years of management experience.
Proven ability to coach, train, and motivate team members.
