Northrop Grumman is seeking a Business Development Director 1 to join our growing team of diverse professionals in Clearfield,Utah(preferred location)but other sites such as Sierra Vista,AZ or Mclean,VA are acceptable as well. This position will report to the Senior Director of Business Development. Develops and provides oversight over business unit strategy development, opportunity identification and qualification, as well as capture and proposal efforts to secure new or re-compete contracts, or task order business and ensures each contain a strong business case/ROI and budget that is adhered to

Responsibilities

Develops win strategies/value propositions, including: business and technical solutions, potential customers, competitive assessments, teaming suppliers, and price-to win assessments and pricing solutions

Develops and provides oversight over pursuit budget development and adherence; Business Application Program (BAP) compliance as appropriate, timeliness of Gate Reviews, and oversight of other internal briefings such as Non-Advocate Review / Independent Cost Estimate (NAR/ICE), Request For Information (RFI) responses, Rough Order of Magnitude (ROMs), and Proposals

Maintains on-going interaction with Division and Business Unit P&L leadership. Provides leadership, mentoring, and training to Business Development (BD) and Capture teams

Holds BD and Capture Managers accountable to and measured against metrics that include but are not limited to: opportunity identification, opportunity assessment and maturation, capture advancement, win rate, supporting financial goals, and market strategies

Responsible for identifying and winning new business within the DoD market and International markets against defined metrics

Support business growth through awards meeting Return on Sales (ROS) requirements

Advises at a strategic level and executes at a tactical level on opportunity-specific captures

Contributes to competitive capture strategies that clearly demonstrate capture value, clear understanding of customer issues, sector-specific discriminators, assessment of competition, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), win strategy, PTW, business case, and the other requirements in BAP required for each capture through bid submission

Provide sound business judgment, innovation in approaching business challenges and the ability to translate a strategic plan into operating results

Basic Qualifications:

Must have one of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 14 years of relevant capture or business development experience

  • Master's degree and 12 years of relevant capture or business development experience

  • Track record of capture on large/major pursuits as well as pipeline development

  • International business development and capture experience

  • Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance

  • Ability to travel domestically and occasionally internationally as needed (up to 50% of the time)

  • Customer intimacy with USAF, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army

  • Must be able to work on-site in either Clearfield, Utah; Sierra, Vista or McLean, VA

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA degree

  • Profit & Loss experience

  • Program Management experience

  • U.S. Military Service

  • Customer intimacy with USAF, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army

  • Experience with and expertise with Northrop Grumman Business Acquisition Process

  • At least 14 years of business development or program management experience in a top-tier Defense contractor organization

What You'll get to Do: As a Composite Production Operator, you work on the next generation composite structures. This job involves the fabrication of composite hardware using a variety of methods such as hand layup, bonding, assembly, trimming and final finishing. It will require development of skills to competently perform a wide variety of tasks designed to produce product that meet our customer expectations. Tasks may be in team environments or individual based.
