The Director of Anesthesia Perioperative Services directs, organizes and integrates nurse anesthesia services throughout the hospital in collaboration with the departments of anesthesiology, anesthesia, surgery, procedural areas and nursing. Oversees the daily provision of services provided by Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CNRAs) and ancillary personnel.
Develops and interprets organizational policies for budgets and personnel; assumes responsibility for safe and proper operation and quality control of equipment, techniques, and procedures; and analyzes and evaluates activities to assure established quality patient care. Promotes and continuously enhances a culture focused on safety.
Education / Training: Graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor.
Work Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience as a CRNA required. Minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership responsibility required.
Certification, Licensure, Registration: Holds current active state licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Michigan. Is currently certified or recertified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists
