The primary purpose of the position is to provide assistance in all aspects of dining services as directed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Essential Functions / Accountabilities
Assist in the preparation or service of food, in accordance with sanitary regulations, and as assigned.
Assure that safety regulations are followed and reports any accidents, hazardous equipment or conditions immediately.
Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties.
Set up meal trays, food carts, dining room tray line and dish room, etc., as instructed.
Attend and participate in workshops, in-services, seminars, etc., as directed.
Perform stock room functions including checking stock to ensure all items are accounted for and undamaged, notifying the supervisor if there are damaged items that need to be returned, putting stock away in the appropriate place, and cleaning duties.
Cultivates effective and respectful relationships with residents, families and staff.
Exhibit behavior in accordance with HPHCs core values.
Provides outstanding customer service to all customers in accordance with HPHCs Five-Step Customer Service Program.
Adheres to all of HPHCs policies and procedures including our safety and Corporate Compliance programs.
Maintains confidentiality of a residents pertinent health information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in the English language and follow written/oral instructions.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.
Must be able to bend, stoop, lift and push (up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis), stir, and move intermittently throughout the workday.
Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
Must be able to maintain regular attendance.
Work in well-lighted/ventilated areas.
Sit, stand, bend, lift and move intermittently during working hours.
Is subject to frequent interruptions.
Is involved with residents, family members, personnel, visitors, etc., under all conditions/circumstances.
Must be willing to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.
May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset resident, family members, etc.
May be subject to falls, cuts, burns from equipment, hot foods, infectious diseases, odors, etc. throughout the work day.
Communicate regularly with other department personnel..
May be exposed to heat/cold temperatures in kitchen/storage areas, and handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
