Overview

Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) typically services long term care and nursing facilities and is now hiring a Dining Services Department Manager in your area! HCSG has a custom, state of the art training program!

Responsibilities

  • Manages the foodservice program in a single site according to Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) policies and procedures, and federal/state requirements.

  • Provides leadership, support and guidance to ensure that food quality standards, inventory levels, food safety guidelines and customer service expectations are met.

  • Maintains records of income and expenditures, food, supplies, personnel and equipment and provides reports to HCSG District Manager on such.

  • Makes sure facility has sufficient supplies.

  • Takes periodic inventories of supplies and materials, trains new employees, and recommends dismissals.

  • Acts as liaison between building occupants, client managers or administrators and HCSG staff.

  • The Manager must be able to communicate effectively all directives from client managers, building occupants and administrators to HCSG staff.

  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher positions for purposes of training and assisting when there are call-outs.

  • Training, quality control and in-servicing staff to HCSG standards is an essential part of the Manager's responsibility and includes touring kitchen several times per day to assess work quality using QCIs for documentation purposes.

  • The Manager is a department head in the facility and must conduct themselves and their department in a professional manner.

  • The Manager consistently embodies the characteristics necessary to drive the Company's Purpose, Vision, Values, and DNA.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Associate's degree or higher in food service management or in hospitality, if the course study includes food service or restaurant management, from an accredited institution of higher learning preferred.

  • Specialized training in foodservice management and nutrition is desirable.

  • Current ServSafe certification is required in accordance with State/County law, or must become ServSafe certified within 30 calendar days of hire.

  • Certified Dietary Manager or Certified Food Service Manager designation where required in accordance with CMS and/or State/County law, or must become certified within a maximum of 9 months from enrollment.

  • Two years' experience in quantity food production/service and personnel supervision is desired.

  • Two years or more related dining/nutrition experience is desired.

  • Skilled in motivating and supervising foodservice personnel.

  • General knowledge and understanding of nutrition.

  • Ability to read and understand nutrient analysis reports.

  • Knowledge of foodservice program requirements.

  • An understanding of foodservice program finances.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required, including web-based reporting.

  • Written and oral communication skills.

  • Considerable knowledge of quantity food production and serving techniques, food safety/sanitation requirements and procedures.

  • Skill in using public relations techniques to promote the foodservice program to client and residents.

  • Ability to interact positively with residents, client and other personnel and the public.

  • Good communication, interpersonal skills organizational skills.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Ability to work effectively with a team.

  • Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.

  • Must live in service area. No relocation costs.

Position is contingent upon continued grant funding. Description: Mission: The mission of METS is to advise low-income, first generation participants to complete high school credentials, while preparing them for post-secondary education and a successful career. The Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education (OCHE) seeks a Program Services Manager to join our Montana Educational Talent Search Program (METS). METS is a federally funded college access program from the U.S. Department of Education. The program serves primarily economic disadvantaged and/or first-generation college students in grades 6-12, a significant percentage of whom are Native American. The position serves as a liaison between the Helena METS office and the communities the program serves. Under general guidance of the Director, this position will maintain program services to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and program goals and objectives. The program is currently funded on a five-year cycle with current funding through August 31, 2021. This position is eligible for employee benefits (health insurance, sick leave and vacation leave, state holidays and retirement program) in accordance with state law. Employees of the Montana University System are eligible to use certain college tuition waivers in accordance with Board of Regents policy. Duties and Responsibilities: * Assist Director in general program duties; * Knowledgeable in the state and federal regulations that apply to the grant and work with Director to ensure grant compliance; * Assist Director in implementing community program goals, objectives and needs to target schools, tribal programs, and community service; * Facilitate ongoing communication and collaboration between METS personnel, target schools, community organizations, and state partners to improve decision-making processes and increase of effectiveness of METS program services; * Work with remote staff to ensure required program services delivery and coordinate permissible services delivery; * Identifies and disseminates research-based practices in 1) early college, financial aid, and career awareness and 2) academic rigor, enrichment for students and families; * Collects, organizes, and maintains documentation of program services and hard copies of student files; * Coordinate and plan program staff travel for professional development and student trips in relation to program services; * Review, revise, and implement communication strategic program plan, including but not limited to, the program website and social media accounts; * Required travel to grant target areas in Browning Area, Crow Area, Flathead Area, and Great Falls Area for site visits and as needed for program delivery; * Assist Director in identifying staff and program training needs related to delivery of program services; * Assist in the identification, development and writing of grant applications; * Takes lead on special projects assigned by the Director and completes in established time frame; * Responsible for updating, reviewing, and communicating program curriculum; * Works with IT staff to manage and track program assets in the field and Helena office * Provides training to new program staff; * Works with other Helena office staff and remote personnel on the aligning the grant's competitive priorities with program objectives; * Track grant budget under direct supervision of Director; * Participate in state and regional trainings as necessary; * Coordinate program services with other college access programs in OCHE and across the state; * Other duties as assigned; * This position travels approximately 15% of the time. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in education, social/behavioral health, English, communication, or similar field; * At least three years working in one of the above areas listed with progressive responsibilities and duties; * Demonstrate relationship building in a work environment; * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access); * Effective communication skills, both verbal and written; * Plan and execute program events and/or activities; * Previous experience working with either records management, or office management.
