Overview

Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) typically services long term care and nursing facilities and is now hiring a Dining Services Assistant Manager in your area! HCSG has a custom, state of the art training program!

Responsibilities

  • The Assistant Account Manager is able to perform and often performs the job assignments of the dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher (see related job descriptions) and, as such, is able to operate a variety of dining services equipment.

  • The Assistant Manager performs and leads small groups of subordinates in dining services activities on varying shifts as needed.

  • In the absence of the Account Manager, the Assistant Manager assumes the responsibility of and manages and supervises the dining services staff at a single site according to policies and procedures, and federal/state requirements.

  • Provides leadership, support and guidance to ensure that food quality standards, inventory levels, food safety guidelines and customer service expectations are met.

  • Assists in training, quality control and in-servicing of staff.

  • The Assistant Manager must conduct themselves in a professional manner and insure their subordinates do the same.

  • The Assistant Manager consistently embodies the characteristics necessary to drive the Company's Purpose, Vision, Values, and DNA.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Specialized training in dining services management and nutrition is desirable. Must successfully complete an approved sanitation and safety course.

  • Two years' experience in quantity food production/service (or equivalent experience) and one year personnel supervision is desired.

  • Current ServSafe certification is required in accordance with State/County law, or must become ServSafe certified within 30 calendar days of hire.

  • Certified Dietary Manager or Certified Food Service Manager designation where required in accordance with CMS and/or State/County law, or must become certified within a maximum of 9 months from enrollment.

  • Basic computer skills preferred.

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

  • Ability to understand and place into action basic food safety/sanitation requirements and procedures.

  • Ability to work all shifts as needed.

  • Must be able to be at work on time.

  • Must be able to full understand and complete all In-Services.

  • Knowledge of Dining Services, foodservice program requirements.

  • Knowledge of and ability to use all department equipment.

  • Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required.

  • Written and oral communication and teaching skills.

  • Skill in using public relations techniques to promote the foodservice program to client and residents.

  • Ability to interact positively with residents, client and other personnel and the public.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.

  • Must live in service area. No relocation costs.

Assist the store manager in achieving and maintaining product pricing, inventory, buildups, merchandise, store appearance and cleanliness, product dating, outdated merchandise, maintain signage, promotions, invoicing, cigarette store maintenance, shelf tags, and vender control. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Manager may designate some or all of the essential duties and responsibilities to the Assistant Manager. In larger locations the Grocery Merchandiser may be responsible for 12, 13, and 14.) * Assist the store manager as needed with employee scheduling, completion of paperwork including books and cashier duties. * Advise store manager of personnel situations or policy violations having an effect on store operations. * Prioritize, organize, delegate, and follow up on assigned shift tasks. Maintain spacing, cleanliness and orderliness of cashier lanes. Keep the counter, shelves and stocked areas neat and clean to include dusting of shelves and merchandise. * Conduct preventive store maintenance and basic repairs. * Promote store safety. * Close out and maintain arcade machines. Promote use and signage. * Serve as Acting Store Manager during Manager absences. * Performs administrative tasks to include bookkeeping, payroll, record and file maintenance and daily bank deposits. * Supervise staff, training and scheduling. * Assist with new employee training and orientation as directed by the manager. * Completes inventory and ordering. Check in items by line number. c) Invoice entry and auditing for correct cost and retail. d) Put order away once the cross-reference is completed. e) Correct and maintain all product pricing, daily if necessary; including down load price changes from G-site, cooler pricing, mark ups/downs, white tag items, product tag numbers updated, track updated and discontinued items. f) Maintain backstock at minimum level. g) Print price books. h)Maintain PLU's i)Keep product rotated, fresh and check expiration dates. Remove and discard unauthorized product. j)Return guaranteed items. 13. Maintain displays and signage a) Compile and promote top seller list. b) Cross merchandise displays. c) Build imaginative displays using all available space. d) Set per schematic – aid from vendors. e) Maintain proper usage and ordering of all DSD displays, gondola sections, etc. f)Maintain correct and complete promo signage – in store and out. (Reader boards, pump toppers, handle ads, building signage, banner, inside sales, etc.) g)Relays of merchandise. h)Set up extra Ad items. 14. Maintain cigarette store: ads, merchandise, compliance contracts, product dating, etc. NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES: * Perform all cashier duties as described in cashier job description. * Clear gas consoles, turn on pumps. * Fill water/cleaning solution buckets on islands. * Police the store. * Greet customers and communicate with them. * Put incoming groceries/merchandise away on shelves and/or cooler. Stock cooler. * Clean restrooms, empty garbage containers. * Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
