Fred Lind Manor is a newly-renovated not-for-profit retirement community located on the crest of Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood. We are excited to share we're looking for fun, energetic, and customer serviced-focused Dining Room Servers to join our team!

Positions Details

Our Dining Room Servers are responsible for the following:

  • Setting tables in dining room for meal service

  • On occasion, setting up and preparing food items

  • Keeping the food and beverage area organized and fully-stocked

  • Getting to know the menu for each meal to assure all items are available and to answer the residents' questions

  • Staying on top of menu changes, specials, and special requests

  • Keeping the dining room neat, clean and tidy at all times

  • Being willing and able to help residents with any meal service assistance they might request or require

  • Greeting guests, informing them of specials and changes; answering questions and making suggestions

  • Processing resident orders to ensure items are prepared properly and served promptly

  • Maintaining a positive, outgoing and upbeat attitude throughout service and while interacting with residents and coworkers

  • Following guidelines for uniforms, hair, cleanliness, and food handling

  • Providing additional assistance to your team as needed

  • Promote the Mission, Vision and Values of Transforming Age in all areas of responsibility.

What our ideal candidate will bring to the team:

  • A superb, fun and outgoing personality who loves working as part of a highly-engaged and hard-working team!

  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age; if under 18, parental and school permission is required

  • Able to read, write, and speak English

  • Able to perform basic arithmetic calculations

  • Willing to work cooperatively as a member of the kitchen/dining staff team and be able to respond to verbal instructions and directions

  • Enjoy working with older adults and be willing to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Be patient, pleasant and understanding in relating to the residents and your team members

We are accepting applications for part-time servers to join our team. The schedule varies and must be available to work weekends. Educational scholarships available! We encourage continuing education and promote internal advancement opportunities. Positions Details Serve Residents meals in a professional manner. Must implement proper food handling and cleaning techniques to ensure optimal infection control. Conduct oneself in a manner which contributes to an environment conducive to the provisions of quality resident services. Responsible for set-up and cleaning of the Dining Room while maintaining or exceeding hospitality and service standards. Assist food servers with dining services to Residents as needed. Carry out the "Living in Style" program through commitment, respect, compassion, dedication, teamwork and quality to our Residents. Here are some of the server responsibilities: * Sets tables in dining room for meal service, using proper place settings * Sets up and prepares food items as required * Stocks food and beverage items as needed * Studies menu for the meal to assure that all items are available and can be communicated to the residents * Checks for menu changes, specials, and special requests. Checks station to make certain that all items required are available * Cleans off chairs, checks floor for cleanliness and that condiments are full and containers are clean * Assists in cleaning and preparing buffet line, cleaning floors, and vacuuming * Assists residents requiring assistance as requested * Greets guests, informs them of specials and changes; answers questions; makes suggestions * Takes food and beverage orders and relays to the kitchen; assists resident with getting items from the buffet line; serves courses from kitchen and service area promptly and with proper presentation * Processes resident orders to ensure items are prepared properly and served on a timely basis; observes residents and coordinates station to provide resident satisfaction * Removes dishes after meal, cleans and sanitizes tables, chairs, service areas, and resets for next meal * Maintains a positive, outgoing and friendly attitude throughout service and while interacting with residents and coworkers * Follows guidelines for uniforms, hair, cleanliness, and food handling * Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor Position requirements: * Must be a minimum of 16 years of age; if under 18, parental and school permission is required * Able to read, write, and speak English * Able to perform basic arithmetic calculations * Willing to work cooperatively as a member of the kitchen/dining staff team, and be able to respond to verbal instructions and directions * Enjoy working with senior adults and be willing to work in a fast-paced environment * Be patient, pleasant and understanding in relating to the residents and staff We are a drug and alcohol-free employer.
