Job Description:

Wellington at Hershey's Mill is seeking Part-Time and Full-Time Servers for it's newly renovated location in West Chester, PA. The server serves food and beverages to residents in accordance with established Benchmark policies and procedures. S/he performs duties under the direction of the Dining Services Director, to assure that quality food service is provided to meet the needs of the residents.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greets and seats customers.

  • Presents customers with menus.

  • Serves food to customers at a limited number of tables, using proper rules of etiquette.

  • Makes appropriate meal and beverage suggestions and answers questions regarding food preparation.

  • Writes a food check and/or memorizes the order.

  • Relays the order to the kitchen.

  • Accepts payment, refers customers to the cashier or operates the cash register.

  • Cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment and assists in clearing and resetting tables.

  • May carve meat, fish or poultry and/or prepare flaming dishes and desserts.

  • May carry and distribute supplies and equipment.

  • May assist others in the preparation of foods and properly store food.

  • May total bills and may be asked to respond to complaints regarding food or service.

  • May operate dishwasher or assist with washing dishes, glassware, silverware, utensils, pots and pans.

  • May assist with stocking food inventory.

  • Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.

  • Complies with all HACCP policies and procedures.

  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.

  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.

  • Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.

  • Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

SAFETY AND SANITATION

  • Follows safety regulations and precautions at all times

  • Follows established Infection Control procedures when performing daily tasks

  • Ensures that all food service areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are properly maintained

  • Reports all hazardous conditions and equipment to your supervisor

  • Reports all accidents to the Dining Services Director or the Executive Director

  • Disposes of food and waste in accordance with established policies.

  • Ability to listen carefully to their customers orders, explain drink and food items and make menu recommendations.

  • Ability to provide clear directions and respond accordingly to employees.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE- CERTIFICATION

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • 0 to 1 year related experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.

  • Significant walking or other means of mobility.

  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).

  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Greet guests in a timely and professional manner while exhibiting excellent guest service skills. * Possess full knowledge of bar and menu items and be able to make recommendations. * Accurately take food and beverages orders and deliver within established time frames once the entire order is completed. * Consistently use suggestive selling techniques. * Verify guests that purchase alcohol are at least 21 years of age. * Ensure that alcohol is consumed in designated areas only. * Ensure adherence to all alcohol enforcement tactics and age restrictions/parental escort by monitoring auditorium for compliance. * Coordinate and assist with reserved seating tactics. * Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure that food and beverage orders are accurate with consistent food quality and presentation. * Assist servers in delivery of food and beverage orders as needed. * Pre-bus tables as needed. * Ensure that assigned tables are set and service areas are stocked to required levels. * Maintain a personal bank for cash out purposes. * Complete all "side work" duties prior to end of shift. * Frequently monitor auditoriums for picture and sound quality, temperature, lighting levels, audience behavior, and film piracy. * Work effectively with supervisors and co-workers. * Ability to work and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. * Follow instructions on safe use of all chemicals/cleaning materials. * Perform all additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned. * Uphold AMC's business practice standards and ensure compliance with company programs. * Maintain regular personal attendance for all scheduled shifts. * Adhere to AMC's tipping policy. * Clear and reset tables both before and after presentation. * Close all auditorium doors at the start of each film. * Assist with crowd control and seating of guests as needed. * Perform exit greetings at auditorium doors at the end of each presentation. * Assist with back of the house cleaning duties and trash removal. * Perform ticket taking duties as needed.
