Requirements

Can you secure reservations at top restaurants? We are looking for someone passionate about the restaurant industry with strong existing industry relationships and knowledge of the best restaurants in Washington D.C.

The role will involve communicating with clients, restaurants, and other team members to provide world-class restaurant access to our members. In addition to great access to reservations, the role requires deep local and industry knowledge to provide the best restaurant recommendations, access to the hottest new openings, and awareness of the most interesting events in local dining.

The ideal candidate will be an entrepreneurial, ambitious and determined person who wants to take their career in the dining industry to the next level.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Communicating with clients, restaurants and team members to deliver prime-time reservations at the best restaurants in the city.
  2. Develop new relationships with restaurants and nightlife venues in the city.
  3. Source ideas for dining events to submit to our content team.

Requirements

  1. Strong existing relationships with top Washington D.C. restaurants and major US restaurant groups.
  2. Experience building relationships and partnerships.
  3. Excellent knowledge of Washington D.C.'s restaurant and nightlife scene.
  4. Experience working with high net worth individuals and clients.
  5. An entrepreneurial, problem-solving attitude.
  6. Excellent, clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Experience in a collaborative and transparent environment.
  8. Ability to work in high-pressure environment with tight deadlines.
  9. Flexible working hours - available to work on evenings and weekends.
  10. High level of intuition to anticipate and exceed client needs.

(On-site) </p><p>Hours: Full Time, typical hours 9am-5pm with occasional nights and weekends.</p><p>Compensation: $45,000 and a robust benefits package. </p><p><strong>Who we are:</strong></p><p>A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2009, Grassroots Health (formerly, The Grassroot Project) exists to advance health equity in cities by using sports to reimagine health education in middle schools and mobilizing NCAA athletes as health educators and role models for youth. Our team of staff, volunteers, community partners, educators and more believe in a world where health education is a priority, not an elective. </p><p>Our model capitalizes on the excitement, relatability, and popularity of sports to provide much-needed health education and health promotion programs to middle school youth. Our core programming includes 9-week, in-school programs in which we partner with P.E. and Health teachers to provide physically active, comprehensive health education. All students receive 1 program per year, over the course of 3 years: nutrition & physical activity (6th grade), sexual health (7th grade), and mental health promotion (8th grade). These programs are supplemented by family health education sessions and events that connect participants to other community service providers. In addition, we invest in the leadership training, cultural competency, and professional skills of hundreds of NCAA student-athletes who serve as our program facilitators each semester and ultimately move into their life after graduation with an unwavering commitment to health equity and social justice. </p><p>As Grassroots Health grows in DC and begins expansion to Philadelphia, we are seeking a Program Coordinator who is passionate about health education and health equity. The ideal candidate will be nimble and eager to grow in a community-based organization with a national growth vision, while contributing significantly to the day-to-day impact and implementation of school and community programs in Washington D.C. </p><p><strong>What you’ll do: </strong></p><p>Program Coordinator(s) will report directly to Program Manager(s) and will be an integral part of the program team. As we continue to grow our programs in Washington D.C., the Program Coordinator position is essential in creating a sustainable program model and ensuring the efficacy of Grassroots Health's education & promotion programs. Program Coordinator(s) are integral in the implementation of school based programming for middle school youth and play an essential role in the leadership development of volunteers, engagement of parents/caregivers in programs, and participation from community health providers at events. </p><p><strong>Primary Responsibilities:</strong></p><p>70% School Program Implementation:</p><ul><li>Coordinate the full cycle of program implementation in a portfolio of 20-25 school programs yearly, including program planning, preparation, and volunteer coordination throughout the program from start to finish. </li><li>Build and maintain strong relationships with school stakeholders, volunteers, students, and community members. </li><li>Conduct programmatic site visits to ensure high quality implementation and to provide facilitation feedback supporting volunteer development. Lead site visits for external stakeholders viewing Grassroots Health programs. </li></ul><ul><li>Manage the data collection and management process of recording program participants and volunteers in school programs, pre and post survey data, attendance, fidelity, and feedback.</li><li>Coordinate volunteer recruitment and lead volunteer training sessions, preparing volunteers for programs. </li></ul><p>20% Additional Programs: </p><ul><li>Manage the implementation of one additional program or project alongside Program Manager (ex. family programs, health fairs, student-athlete volunteer development) and support the implementation of all programs with the entire program team.</li></ul><ul><li>Support additional programs and events by coordinating volunteers and logistics. </li><li>Provide support for leadership development and volunteer engagement sessions throughout the year. </li></ul><p>10% Special Projects & General Community Engagement: </p><ul><li>Seek out and attend community and city meetings relevant to Grassroots Health curricula topics, health education, health equity or other relevant community organizations, groups, and topics. </li><li>Engage in additional projects or opportunities.
