Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems sector is seeking an Advanced Measurement Technician 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Palmdale, CA, where technology and teamwork come together. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing organization, working collaboratively while promoting a positive and proactive teamwork environment.

The selected candidate will be required to support manufacturing environment covering multiple programs, and support tooling and production requirements needed at suppliers and/or customers. Candidate will be required to use highly sophisticated computer aided metrology equipment that will require learning multiple software applications. Candidate must be familiar with common Microsoft applications, Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc. Should be able to work off of high ladders and portable platforms, capable of heavy lifting, standing for long periods of time. Good communication skills and the ability to document work performed or explain job delays, with a strong desire to work efficiently while working safely. Candidate may be required to work any shift as well as overtime as necessary.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.

  • Experience with Computer-Aided Measurement Systems (C.A.M.S.) and/or Laser Tracking Interferometer Systems (FARO-LEICA). articulating Arm (Romer-Faro)

  • Experience with assembly tooling and/or composites fabrication and assembly.

  • Experience with Computer-Aided Measurement Systems (C.A.M.S.) and/or Laser Tracking Interferometer Systems (FARO-LEICA).

  • Experience in data collection for the Validation/Verification of Tooling and Production Engineering. Coordination with Manufacturing. Engineering, Quality, and Tool Design to interpret, analyze, and advise on the data results.

  • Support tooling requirements needed at suppliers and/or customers.

  • Experience in Microsoft Office suite.

  • Ability to communicate/interface with multiple levels, such as Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Tool Design to interpret, analyze, and advise on the data results.

  • Ability to work on high ladders and portable platforms, ability to lift heavy objects over 35lbs, and the ability to stand for long periods of time is required.

  • Ability to work 1st shift "5 am

  • 3:30 pm" or 2nd shift "4:12 pm

  • 2:42 am" and any work schedule is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 1 years of relevant experience.

  • Must be familiar with multiple computer aided metrology systems such as laser trackers, articulated arms, scanners 6DoF (Six Degree of Freedom) etc.

  • Experience with computer aided graphic interfaces (Verisurf X, SA and Maya matrix, Build!IT, Polyworks)

  • Experience in the ability to analyze collected data to computer models.

  • Knowledge of Integrated Systems Air Frames and Aero Structures

  • Position requires travel and ability to work any shift as necessary.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret or Top-Secret clearance and Special Program Access as required.

Salary Range: $53,000.00 - $88,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
