JCC Greater Boston seeks a dedicated and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Diller Teen Fellows Program Coordinator/Teen Program Manager. This unique combined role offers the opportunity to positively impact teens' lives while coordinating and facilitating meaningful programs.

As the Diller Teen Fellows Program Coordinator / Teen Program Manager, your role includes helping to shape the overarching vision for our teen programs and contributing to the development of a comprehensive strategy that aligns with our organizational goals. You will develop and implement a wide range of programs and initiatives that cater to teens' needs and interests. You will work closely with community partners, educators, and parents to create engaging and enriching experiences for teens in the Greater Boston area.

The Diller Teen Fellows Program is an internationally recognized leadership development program for Jewish high school students. In this role, you will work directly with a cohort of teen participants, fostering their leadership skills and passion for community service.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in program development and coordination and a passion for working with teens. They will be creative thinkers who can design innovative programs that appeal to a diverse group of participants. Additionally, they will have excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders.

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package. To accommodate program schedules and events, the role may require some evening and weekend work.

The starting salary for this position is $62,240 - $69,360. The salary offered will ultimately be determined by the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity.

Responsibilities

DILLER FELLOWS PROGRAM COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Fostering Learning

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to twenty program participants

  • Engage parents of participating teens and local program alumni in focused ways that help them understand and contribute to the experience their teens are having

  • Create a dynamic, fun, and impactful learning environment that fosters individual reflection and greater global understanding.

Curriculum and Facilitation

  • Develop and lead scheduled workshops and retreats throughout the year in accordance with the Diller mission, vision, and goals. Ongoing curriculum development and program evaluation that responds to the unique needs of our cohort community.

  • Design, co-lead, and supervise, in partnership with the Israeli partner Coordinator, seminars in the local community and in Israel

Program Management

  • Manage the marketing, recruitment, interviewing, and participant selection process (working in collaboration with other local organizations)
  • Plan and manage all logistics related to workshops and retreats, service learning projects, Israel education, and travel planning. Supervise two Junior Counselors and a Program Intern. Manage program budget, including income and expense tracking. Support families, in partnership with the Business Office, to stay up to date with their fee and payment expectations. Manage annual allocation and ensure that it is in sync with the needs and expectations of the JCC Diller budget.

Global Partnerships

  • Coordinate with other Diller staff on program development, best practices, and partnerships, as applicable

  • Active participation in local, national, and international conference calls and professional development seminars

TEEN PROGRAM MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to shaping the vision for a broader JCC teen initiative

  • Foster connections with teen organization partners and directly engage with teenagers to encourage their participation in programming

  • Sustain involvement with the teen council, fostering collaboration and input

  • Design and execute various teen programs to cater to their interests and needs

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise two Junior Counselors and a Program Intern.

Observe, mentor, coach, evaluate, inspire, and create an atmosphere that promotes self-motivation, learning, and professional development.

Minimum Qualifications:

BA in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Jewish Studies, or related field; MA preferred. Requires 3+ years experience developing and leading programming addressing Jewish identity development, youth leadership development, community service, and Israel education. Experience in experiential education, group facilitation, program development and/or management is also required.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted at the JCC's discretion to meet minimum criteria.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong facilitation, education, organization, and communication skills required to effectively interact with, lead, and inspire a diverse body of teens, parents, community leaders, and staff, as well as to collaborate with partner agency staff effectively

  • Understanding of and appreciation for Israeli culture. Beginning-intermediate understanding of Israeli history, politics, and geography

  • Administrative and management skills including budget management, scheduling, and communications management

  • Availability to some work nights and weekends, including travel to Israel for 3 weeks during the summer as well as additional travel during the year to a variety of conferences and trainings.

  • Ability to collaborate in an international partnership and to work with and contribute to an international peer network of Diller Teen Fellow Coordinators

Physical Requirements: Able to work in person. Ability to travel globally with youth, maintaining a safe and supportive environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to use a computer. Ability to lead classroom and non-classroom (e.g. field trips) learning experiences for full multi-day programs.
