Responsible for directly closing sales of products and/or services in order to meet individual/team goals and the organization's business objectives. Creates, monitors and revises lead generation plans to ensure a substantive sales opportunity pipeline. Primary focus is on aggressive development of new clients and growing existing business with local medium to large accounts


  • Grow direct digital revenue and achieve sales targets by landing digital only accounts

  • Partner with the assigned sales team to provide cohesive and innovative digital campaign strategies for existing and new clients.

  • Maximize revenue through consultative digital sales approach with ability to represent solutions across the full portfolio of Tribune Publishing solutions.

  • Foster and develop professional relationships within the community and client organizations by attending community, chamber, industry and client functions.

  • Identify customer needs through pre call planning, utilization of marketing resources, competitive analysis, and customer feedback, in order to connect meaningful media solutions across the Tribune portfolio.

  • Monitor and manage digital campaigns from their inception to completion.

  • Work directly with sales planners, engineers and traffickers to ensure proper tracking, delivery and measurement goals.

  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications. Required to attend internal training and skill development workshops.

  • Deliver uncompromising customer support and attention to detail.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business (Marketing, Communications, Journalism or Advertising concentration preferred)

  • Must have prior digital sales experience / 4+ years preferred

  • Understand Customer Path-to-Purchase and Consumer Decision Journey as it relates to online sales and consumer engagement.

  • Media Industry knowledge

  • Working knowledge and experience utilizing a CRM and Microsoft Office products to manage day to day activities

  • Ability to excel in a highly competitive environment and adaptability to a rapidly evolving media landscape

  • Effective relationship-building skills

  • Demonstrated success in meeting revenue goals

  • Excellent analytical, written, oral, communication, written and presentation skills

  • Self-starter, possess high energy, creative and analytical skills

  • Ability to multi-task with strong time and project management skills and financial business acumen skills

  • Requires a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

  • Travel may be necessary

Responsibilities Build front-end user interfaces using responsive design best practices, HTML, CSS, and various scripting languages. Help with initiatives to improve and/or redesign heavily-trafficked sections of the site, as assigned by manager. Collaborate with designers and developers on one-off online components and pages. Participate in meetings, as needed, with clients to understand their needs and guide them to decisions that best meet our site branding and intended user journey. Review and report on web analytics, with a focus on traffic trends and user behavior. Make suggestions that will markedly improve site experience for both the current NYIT community and prospective students. Serve as support person for all digital sign needs, including deployment on campuses in New York City and Long Island. Attend trainings and meetings to better improve digital signage systems and process. Build HTML emails for both bulk and custom campaigns. Assist with email sends via email marketing platform. Stay current on industry trends, make suggestions to improve process. Other duties related to the upkeep of NYIT digital properties, such as the NYIT app, subdomains, and social tools, as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; a Master's degree is preferred. Expertise in web development/production (front-end) is required. Experience in Higher Education/Non-Profit is preferred. Must have technical and marketing knowledge: web production/design; CMS; SEO techniques; web analytics (including Web Trends); navigation and information architecture best practices; JavaScript and JQuery specifically, along with knowledge of other front-end scripting languages such as PHP; web usability and WC3 compliance; industry best and most current practices. Helpful: knowledge of Wordpress, email marketing, and/or blogging systems. Skills: excellent customer service/communications; superior writing and editing of web content; fluency in HTML, Dreamweaver, Photoshop. Helpful: Experience with HTML5, video for web, motion graphics, responsive design, web design, photography, and photo-editing. Abilities: demonstrated ability to translate designs into HTML/CSS, taking into account cross-browser and cross-platform issues (e.g., PC/Mac, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.); creative; deadline-driven; well-organized; poised, professional, and engaging; self-motivated; attention to detail; multitasking.
