Senior Director Digital Servicing Technology

We're super excited to be growing and hiring software engineers across the country to transform our applications and enable highly interactive, real time data driven customer products and services.

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineering Leader to drive the technology strategy and execution of web servicing solutions and infrastructure to enable our digital engagement strategy and deliver real-time, relevant experiences to our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Card Technology team, that enables some of our most important customer interactions in our Web and Mobile channels. Responsibilities include partnering to develop and execute on a tech strategy that enables the digital onboarding and servicing of new and existing card customers while linking together holistically customer experiences across multiple channels. The leadership role requires the ability to "lead leaders", driving agile, engineering and cultural transformation while developing a staff of highly talented engineers. The role requires the ability to define, influence and drive the web servicing technology strategy for Capital One's card business. Successful candidates will have the ability to work hand in hand with product teams and data producers to drive technology innovation and deliver business value through partner organizations and open source products in a public cloud environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead leaders of software engineering teams in an Agile environment leveraging advanced engineering practices to deliver national scale solutions in Digital Servicing for the US Card Business

  • Define, influence and drive technology strategy and solutions to enable product and business strategy

  • Work across internal and external data providers to continuously improve our servicing experiences and data driven testing strategies

  • Lead the decision-making processes on technology solutions and investment decisions

  • Manage a portfolio of technology projects that transform customer interactions with Capital One card products

  • Recruit, motivate, mentor, and lead the best application engineering talent

  • Develop business applications that maintain the highest availability and performance

  • Knowledge, passion for and ability to lead software engineers developing in User Interface Technologies such as Angular and React, Rest API and microservices using Java, Spring, Big Data/Fast Data and Streaming Technologies, and DevOps Build and Deployment Tools

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or military experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in Cloud Computing

  • At least 7 years of experience in Web Application development

  • At least 7 years leading software engineering teams in an Agile environment

  • At least 10 years of experience with object-oriented programming and design, including Java

  • At least 10 years of experience in developing web applications, architectural standards and SOA technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science

  • Highly knowledgeable of the client-side technology space with proven knowledge of leading and emerging player

  • 5+ years of experience leveraging advanced engineering practices

  • 7+ years of experience leading large scale, iterative, multi-year technology transformations

  • 10+ years of experience building consumer-facing software solutions at scale
