Where You'll Work
This Internship will be working with the Health Information Interoperability Center of Excellence and help drive thought leadership and adoption of interoperability capabilities. During this internship, the individual will work cross functionally with many business units at Cigna. This role will support the vision of bringing new innovation and cutting edge technology into physician offices.
During the 12-week summer internship, you will have the opportunity to collaborate within your department and across the business while learning from some of our brightest and most innovative employees in your area of focus.
Schedule: You must be available to work a 40-hour work week for 10-12 weeks summer 2021.
What You'll Do
Research the current healthcare industry to assess current vendors, tools, and technologies related to clinical interoperability
Participate in recommendation for process improvements or inefficiencies that impact the analysis efforts
Research news, press releases, and technologies in the digital solutions space (i.e. eRX, ePA, Real Time Benefit Check, Clinical Interoperability)
Support other DPS initiatives including integration with medical benefits, clinical interoperability
Create and present reports to internal cross functional teams
Become familiar with various industry events, organizations, and association based on engagement portfolio
Create and present updates to management
Junior or senior-level college students with a 3.0 GPA or above preferred; preferred majors include Business, Project Management, Analytics, Management, or related field
Previous exposure to data analytics and data-driven processes
Strong attention to detail and ability to think analytically
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong business aptitude and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team; interest in digital solutions
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
Self-starter with a savvy mind that is eager to learn new skills
