As a Digital Portfolio Planner, you will be responsible for actively building, tracking, coordinating and promoting game portfolios across the Microsoft ecosystems, including the ID@Xbox (independent developer) program, Game Pass (gaming subscription) and Mixer (interactive streaming). You will be responsible for the evaluation of potential partnership content (e.g. game pitches, prototypes, early playable builds) and providing clear, actionable feedback on that content. You will also work with a global team of Business Development, Engagement and Strategic Partner Managers who work directly with our external partners as well as our internal policy team to guide the overall business to success in ever-changing market conditions.
This is a job for a self-starting individual that can identify and assess content, process and policy opportunities and then take action where appropriate. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert on gaming on all platforms (including console/PC/mobile) with the ability to look at content through both a critical and commercial lens. This individual will also be data focused and able to digest various user engagement and marketplace data points and provide actionable insights to the overall business. A good understanding of the various business models for games (e.g. free-to-play, in-game monetization) and game mechanic implications is beneficial. Being able to pick up multiple projects, build out plans, and then independently drive them all to completion on often tight timelines is also a necessity. Proven networking and follow-up skills are a must.
Minimum of four (4) years of related work experience within the gaming industry. Experience in game development/production a plus
Passionate gamer with experience and encyclopedic knowledge of games and the games business, including the "indie" and "AAA" space. Knowledge of digital ecosystems including Windows, mobile and consoles (including competitive platforms such as Sony and Nintendo) is important. Top candidates will also be able to tell us what's going to be hot next and offer detailed data-backed proof-points for their position.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly, articulately and succinctly describe games in processes in Word, build PowerPoint decks and create and update Excel spreadsheets
Demonstrated skill in processing and segregating highly confidential information from a variety of sources
In-depth working knowledge of the video game industry, the relevant companies worldwide, and their history
Ability to work independently; take on tasks and prioritize them appropriately
Tenacious about influencing and securing content for Microsoft's gaming platforms
Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

Collaborate with internal teams to identify and recommend partnership opportunities that positively affect the Microsoft gaming experience and grow /diversify the portfolio of games offered to the Microsoft gaming player base.
Provide data-driven game industry insights on both a macro and micro scale to the wider business
Evangelize and foster relationships with external developers/publishers on a global basis to enable them to publish their content on Microsoft platforms
Review games and clearly communicate about them in terms of potential business impact (quality/fun, revenue, engagement, acquisition, etc.), both verbally and in writing, to internal and external teams
Build process and information flow to clearly help internal groups understand the status of Microsoft's gaming portfolio. You will produce regular portfolio status communications for executive review
Review and prep game builds for marketing events
Build and manage internal relationships with key stakeholders of business groups including the Business Development team, Strategic Partner Management teams, the Windows gaming team, the Developer Account Management team, the Xbox LIVE business group, the Microsoft Store team, the ID@Xbox Engagement team and others
