The Corporate and Digital Communications Internship focuses on learning to develop and drive Corporate Communication strategies including social media and digital employee communication channels. This internship will help build a more robust digital community through content development and engagement and provide tactical support to the communications team.
This opportunity is located at Blue Diamond Growers' corporate headquarters in Sacramento, CA. This internship targets undergraduate students in their junior year or first-year graduate students. We are looking for interns that are truly passionate about gaining corporate communications experience in a fast-moving consumer goods environment. Objectives will be given to the intern at the beginning of the assignment. This internship program is a 6-month assignment from July January.
What you can expect to experience:
Engaging in communications projects that support corporate messaging initiatives.
Developing corporate social and content strategy.
Creating content for distribution across corporate social media channels.
Interacting with cross-organizational department managers.
Providing tactical support to the Communications team.
How success will be measured:
Willingness to tackle the challenges presented to the candidate
Drive progress and/or completion of assignments / projects
Progress of metrics for social media interaction and audience growth
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES (Specialized education, specific software experience, etc.)
Agriculture Communications, English, Journalism, or Public Relations Major.
Interest in learning the application of technical knowledge.
Interest in event planning and working with people.
Interest in Corporate Communication as a post-graduate career.
Working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Snapchat and emerging digital trends, including measurement tools.
Experience with web/social media management and measurement tools
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
Knowledge of basic HTML, graphic design, WordPress, Adobe Creative Cloud, video editing, photography, content presentation and delivery
