Job Summary
This role drives development of client digital business and develops and cultivates key partnerships to grow HMI capabilities and visibility.
The Media Supervisor will work with the digital and brand team to develop digital channel strategies and recommend final media plans that meet campaign imperatives and client objectives. The Digital Media Supervisor oversees a team of digital media planners and assistants, and helps them develop, craft, and present campaign materials to clients. The Digital Media Supervisor partners closely with Brand Strategy Supervisor to ensure holistic campaign planning across all media channels.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Managerial, Operational Excellence: Manage a team of Digital Sr. Planners, Planners, and Assistants to ensure deliverables are properly executed and timelines properly met. Manage daily and long-term workloads to identify and resolve bottlenecking and/or strain on resources and morale.
Cross check plans and all supporting documents (flowcharts, IOs, timelines, spec sheets, billing docs) to ensure accuracy and completeness before delivery or execution
Double check and sign IOs with adherence to Terms & Conditions, negotiating changes when necessary
Steward Digital Media Planning & Digital Campaign Execution: Provide active leadership throughout the planning process, and articulate these points to clients or internal teams, especially strategy development, tactical plan recommendation, organizing presentation materials, mid-campaign optimizations, and campaign reporting and analysis
Ensure partner negotiations are fair, and lead to the highest value for clients and Horizon, and are of the highest quality
Clear billing and any accompanying discrepancies in a timely manner, with utmost fiscal responsibility to the agency and to our clients
Day-to-Day Client, Industry, and Agency-led Communication: Will be point Digital team contact to clients and internal teams. Will also take a key lead role in relationship management with the industry, specifically with vendor partners
Lead day-to-day client communication during planning and executional phases. Also key presenter (in-person and via phone) role for core client deliverables (e.g. campaign recommendations, reporting, POV's)
Meet consistently with industry partners to maintain or grow relationships, stay on top of industry offerings, and develop executions/opportunities or campaign proposals for clients
Meet with agency department leads and teams for additional education and development
Digital Media Expertise & Development of Accounts & Agency: Investigate cross-platform opportunities across a variety of channels and platforms, including video, display, social, search, and emerging technologies.
Work with internal teams and vendor partners to identify and develop creative opportunities that align with campaign objectives, including brainstorm session participation and leadership. Present findings to clients and agency leads
Research industry and subject matter developments as they relate to the agency, the account, or digital media in general
Drive business growth within portfolio of business, and via agency partnerships
Team Growth & Mentorship: Act as a role model for Digital Media Planning team with a keen eye toward operational excellence across the team
Conduct performance reviews for media planning team
Develop and manage growth plans for Digital Media Planning team members, and communicate progress routinely
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises Assistant Digital Media Planner, Digital Media Planners/Senior Digital Media Planners
Knowledge and Skills Required
BA/BS required
4-6 years digital planning experience
Advanced computer knowledge (Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with a third party ad server (DCM, Moat, Double Verify, Integral Ad Science preferred)
On top of industry trends
Strong writing, presentation, strategic and analytical thinking skills
Able to work independently and have excellent time management skills
Problem solver with the ability to develop creative solutions
Organized, and detail-oriented with strong attention to follow-through
Nimble and flexible to succeed in a fast-paced environment and handle ad hoc requests
Strong team player, with open-minded and inclusive attitude
Interest and familiarity through use of digital media
