Under general supervision, provides technical leadership and coordination for content management of internal and external websites, circulating news releases and media advisories, managing contact lists, and creating external and internal newsletters and employee information.

  • Serves as a member of the county's Communications Department, assisting in developing digital media strategies and communication plans for assigned departments and/or projects.

  • Creates and edits compelling and informative content using text, images, graphics, videos, and more for our websites, including articles, posts, landing pages, calendar events, and more.

  • Proofreads and edits all website content to ensure accuracy, coherence, and adherence to our brand guidelines.

  • Creates and/or edits digital newsletters and other forms of email campaigns, press releases, letterhead templates,  and public announcements.

  • Implements SEO strategies to improve organic search returns and drives traffic to the website.

  • Conducts keyword research, optimizes website content, and monitors SEO.

  • Utilizes analytics tools to track, measure, and report on performance.

  • Generates regular reports with key insights, actionable recommendations, and performance metrics to stakeholders.

  • Troubleshoots and problem-solves websites and system failures.

  • Ensures all digital media content and campaigns comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations and guidelines, including accessibility standards for web content, ensuring equitable access for individuals with disabilities.

  • Collaborates with the graphic designers to create new digital media content in support of website and social media outreach.

  • Participates in professional development opportunities and incorporates new skills and techniques into website design and updates.

  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.

  • Successful candidate should be a skilled writer and researcher with an eye for detail and an understanding of the special requirements of web writing.

  • Ability to create and design websites and manage content.

  • Experience planning, developing, and managing digital content as part of an integrated online and social media communication strategy.

  • Ability to effectively discuss technology trends, constraints, and features, and their applications to government business processes and operations.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.

  • Ability to assist with special events and projects which may occur during evenings or on weekends.

  • Ability to manage a diverse set of project assignments simultaneously, completing each in a timely manner.

  • Ability to listen well and communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, with various audiences.

  • Establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

  • Computer skills: Drupal content management software, Word Press, Adobe software, Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered

Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience in website management including experience with web editing and design.

Education and Training: Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field from an accredited college or university.

License or Certificate: None.

Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check.
