The Bryce Jordan Center is seeking an experienced creative, analytical, and web-savvy Marketing and Communications Specialist to join a dynamic team. This position will take innovative approaches to employ a variety of marketing, communications, and public relations strategies to promote all concerts and events coming to the 15,000+ seat venue. The Bryce Jordan Center hosts circuses, sports exhibitions, family shows, commencements, lectures, and Big Ten Basketball, as well as some of the top-name performers in the music entertainment industry.

Location

The location of this job is primarily in person at the University Park campus with some flexibility for an occasional hybrid mix of in-person and remote work. Candidates must live in the local area or be willing to travel to campus as needed at their own expense and may require after-hours commitments that align with scheduled events. Position Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a variety of marketing, communications, and public relations strategies that may include traditional media marketing and advertising.

  • Assist in the planning of marketing and/or communications strategy by identifying communications needs based on relevant research.

  • Prepare creative briefs for concept development and creative expression; deliver presentations of creative work to clients.

  • Benchmark marketing efforts and best practices and prepare reports to inform innovation and competitive analysis. Monitor and communicate the status of tactical campaign implementation with clients and management.

  • Create, conceptualize, edit, and enhance communications and content through a variety of media and marketing.

  • Schedule and disseminate print and electronic communications and placement of advertising.

  • Monitor news and media presence, monitor and track analytics of the website and digital traffic.

  • Collaborate with agencies and other vendor partners on campaigns while adhering to University brand standards and industry editorial and style guidelines.

  • May oversee and direct the work of part-time employees and students.

Qualifications

This position minimally requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus 1 year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Necessary experience and skills:

  • Successful candidates will have at least 1 year of experience in developing and executing a variety of marketing, communications, and public relations strategies.

  • Proven ability to use data and metrics to develop strategies, drive decisions, and achieve goals. Demonstrated experience using Google Analytics is preferred.

  • Experience using web content management systems; specific experience with Drupal is a plus.

  • Knowledge and experience utilizing social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube to drive marketing strategies is required.

  • The position requires extensive relationship building to foster collaboration and coordination among assigned partners, internal stakeholders, and other marketing team members including interns and street teams. Strong time management and problem-solving skills are necessary.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$46,400.00 - $67,300.00
