THE SCHOOL OF CREATIVE & MEDIA ARTS
Tiffin University's School of Creative & Media Arts houses the Digital Media degree program, which includes professional tracks in a variety of multimedia production and content creation fields, including Video Production, Photography & Design, Digital Storytelling, Sports Media, Strategic Communication, and Audio Production. The School also houses a cutting-edge Commercial Music degree program with advanced coursework in Performance, Entrepreneurship, Production & Engineering, as well as a wide range of interdisciplinary, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities across arts and communication areas. Faculty and staff within the School have a wide range of advanced professional experience in their disciplines.
THE PROGRAM
Tiffin University's bachelor's degree in Digital Media includes required study in multimedia creation, art and design, professional writing, marketing, video production, and branding, as well as courses in career development and a required internship. The degree's creative core and media core provides a foundation for a student to design their own further advanced coursework in a variety of professional tracks and for their outside-the-classroom opportunities in multimedia content creation working on campus and for area businesses.
To accommodate the unique career goals and professional paths of our students, advanced coursework is available to all students in the following Professional Tracks: Video Production, Photography & Design, Digital Storytelling, Sports Media, Strategic Communication, and Audio Production.
The program gives students a variety of hands-on opportunities both inside the classroom and in conjunction with diverse extracurricular and co-curricular activities for which students receive scholarship support.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The faculty member will teach courses in two or more of the following areas:
Video Production
Sports Journalism
Multimedia Content Creation
Photography & Design
Strategic Communication
The faculty member will also provide leadership and vision, fostering the growth of the degree program, extracurricular and co-curricular media arts activities, and undergraduate student enrollment. Faculty rank and compensation commensurate with experience.
Credentials and professional experience will determine faculty rank consideration.
Requirements
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching face-to-face classes at the undergraduate level in the School for Creative and Media Arts. Instruction areas may include: Video Production, Sports Journalism, Multimedia Content Creation.
Provide leadership in the growth and development of Digital Media academic, extracurricular and co-curricular offerings
Serve as facilitator and advisor for an extracurricular or co-curricular media team or student media organization
Demonstrate a commitment to working collaboratively and collegially in activities, projects and programs that support program growth and student success.
Attend department, school, and university meetings, serving on university, school and other committees as appointed.
Advise and mentor undergraduate students
Supervise internships and individually guided studies
Be responsible for other duties as assigned by the Dean
Create and promote a positive and supportive work environment.
Demonstrate personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and unwavering commitment to Tiffin University's Guiding Principles.
Demonstrate excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrate the ability to work with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Education: Terminal degree in a Media, Creative or Communication related field is preferred. Candidates with extensive professional experience in digital media and communication fields may also be considered.
Experience: Professional experience in two or more of the following areas: Video Production, Multimedia Content Creation, Sports Media, Television Production, Broadcasting & Podcasting, or Public History/Digital Storytelling.
