Job Summary

The Digital Marketing Specialist brings a highly organized and analytical approach to manage and maintain all digital properties, including websites, tracking platforms, and SEO-related tools. This role will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the performance of web properties and digital campaigns, as well as coordinating projects with internal teams and agency partners. They will update and optimize website content, analyze website and SEO trends, and lead project-related meetings. The Digital Marketing Specialist will also collaborate with internal teams and agency partners to develop digital campaigns and ensure business listings and review platforms are up-to-date. Additionally, they will create training materials, analyze user experiences, and communicate digital trends to leadership, team members, and the school network.

Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Suite is essential, along with project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently. Excellent communication skills are required to present complex analysis results to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience with WordPress, HTML, CSS, and SQL is a plus, as is higher education digital support experience. Overall, the Digital Specialist will play a crucial role in driving the success of digital information initiatives and ensuring a strong online presence for the Paul Mitchell Schools brand.

Responsibilities

  • Update, optimize, and manage website content and landing pages for both corporate and school-level websites.

  • Analyze and report on website and SEO trends using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Data Studio, SEMrush (and other specialized SEO tools as needed), etc.

  • Lead and schedule project-related meetings, including kickoffs, brainstorms, and reviews, and route projects through appropriate departments for review and approval.

  • Collaborate closely with internal leadership, cross-functional teams, and agency partners to develop digital campaigns across all channels and have an understanding of how they relate to the overall marketing plan and goals.

  • Update, manage, and monitor business listings, review platforms, and current business information within chosen multi-location management platforms and tools

  • Assist with and perform other digital and cross-functional projects as needed.

  • Create training tutorials and materials to educate the school network on current digital trends, implementation, execution, and analysis.

  • Analyze website user experiences (UX) and provide insights or suggestions to improve initiatives.

  • Identify and communicate digital trends and emerging SEO technologies to leadership, team members, and the school network.

  • Provide marketing and digital support to school staff where necessary via phone, Zoom, and other communications platforms.

  • Assist with other responsibilities as assigned by management, which may include assignments outside of the normal role.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • At least 2 years of proven experience in a similar role and environment is required.

  • Experience with WordPress and page/theme builders is a plus.

  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and SQL is a plus.

  • Higher education or franchise (or multi-location) experience is a plus.

  • Experience providing phone support and customer service.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong analytical skills for measuring success and KPIs to translate data into actionable results.

  • Strong understanding of SEO/Local SEO and SEM/PPC.

  • Highly proficient in Google and/or Microsoft Suite.

  • Understanding of project management processes for timeline management and communicating deadlines with internal team members.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to make presentations to stakeholders.

  • Flexible and positive attitude, able to work independently and within teams.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and frequently with franchise owners and directors.

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.

  • Face-to-face phone, Zoom, Teams, and other communication platforms are required.

  • Demonstrated ability to use Artificial Intelligence Prompts is a plus.
