The Digital Specialist is responsible for executing, in conjunction with the Content Strategist and Director of Digital Experience, a master digital content strategy and content dissemination/optimization process across EJGH and Lakeside Hospital websites and social media platforms. Manages the editorial calendar, digital style guides, taxonomies, metadata frameworks and content migration plans.

The Digital Specialist builds and manages the social media profiles and presence for EJGH and Lakeside Hospital on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, blogs and other channels, as appropriate, as well as supports other paid media efforts. Curates relevant content to reach the organization's patients, staff and the community. Monitors, listens and responds to users in a timely manner. Develops and expands community and/or blogger outreach efforts. Designs, creates and manages promotions, content and social ad campaigns in collaboration with the Marketing team and hospital leadership. Compiles regular and comprehensive reports for the Marketing team and for management showing results (ROI). This role may also support the larger system Marketing team through a focus on website end user experience, along with supporting internal communications strategies.

Your Everyday

Manages Social Media and Online Reputation:

  • Plans and implements social and digital media campaigns that support assigned hospital and/or service line communication goals.

  • Engages the online community via social media and website content.

  • Creates and executes the editorial calendar and determines sources for content both internal and external communication needs.

  • Defines and implements content-based strategies to build/enhance EJGH's digital user base.

  • Develops channels to strengthen engagement.

  • Actively manages EJGH's online reputation as part of established reputation management governance procedures.

  • Monitors trends in social media (including those of our competitors) in order to identify best practice relating to social strategy.

  • Explore new ways to engage and identify new social networks to reach target audiences.

  • Analyzes, tracks and measures content initiatives and campaigns to report on digital and social media ROI. Provides reporting on a regular cadence.

Content Creation:

  • Creates shareable content appropriate for specific networks to spread both our brand and our content.

  • Assists with content creation/production that supports digital and social marketing.

  • In coordination with Creative, ensures adherence to system/hospital brand, editorial, and web standards.

  • Collaborates with Marketing teammates to maintain a consistent brand voice and message across our online content.

Supports Paid Media, Website & Internal Communications:

  • Supports digital media strategies for EJGH, Lakeside Hospital and the downtown campus. Works with the team to recommend proactive strategies to advance marketing and communications efforts.

  • Collaborates with the Marketing team and other key stakeholders to identify priorities and execute marketing strategies that support identified internal communications requirements.

  • Supports the implementation of the paid media plan and related activities.

  • Assists with website content and functionality as needed.

  • Supports internal communications, including the internal comms digital platforms, as needed. Includes content creation, writing and distribution of messaging.

Team Collaboration:

  • Works collaboratively with system Marketing team and other hospital Marketing and Communications teams, including outside agency partners. Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism, maintains confidentiality and has the ability to comfortably and effectively advise on social media, digital and internal communications strategies to drive engagement.

  • Takes a proactive approach to identifying new opportunities, obtaining stakeholder alignment, and implementing recommendations.

  • Leads by example in staying on top of industry news and shares relevant articles to provide insight and context into PR activities.

The Must-Haves

Minimum:

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required: Three years of experience in marketing communications.

  • Preferred: Previous experience in development, management and execution of social media and /or website content management systems. Strong knowledge of Google Analytics.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, computer science or a related field.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Command of best practices and trends in social media marketing content and understand how to both build and convert a digital audience.

  • Proficiency in using social media software to monitor social media initiatives and measure ROI.

  • Demonstrate technical aptitude and passion for learning new technologies and staying abreast of digital communications trends.

  • Experience with best practices tied to content optimization for website search engines (SEO) and other paid media.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and build consensus in a complex, heavily matrixed environment.

  • Excellent self-direction and attention to detail.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. Detail-oriented approach with excellent prioritization and project management skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of the LCMC Health brand for various types of website and social content.

  • Team-oriented outlook and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across the organization and within the department.

  • Must work well under the pressure of multiple projects having competing deadlines. Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment.

  • Ability to approach work strategically and to execute assignments at a tactical level.

  • Demonstrate technical aptitude and passion for learning new technologies and staying abreast of digital communications trends.

  • Solid presentation and communications skills, with ability to create and deliver presentations to diverse stakeholder teams.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work with all levels of staff (executive, front-line, and physicians) and function effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to provide an inclusive workplace that fosters the development of others, facilitates cooperation and teamwork, and supports constructive resolution of conflicts.

  • Must be comfortable taking initiative, demonstrating innovative thinking and be an energetic, self-assured high performer able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Occasional evening and weekend work.
