THE OPPORTUNITY

Scholastic Teachables is a digital subscription product for that contains over 20,000 downloadable resources for every grade and subject.

Teacher Resources offers Teaching resources, children's and teacher books, lesson plans, book lists, classroom resources, educational products from Scholastic for PreK - 12 teachers.

Digital Marketing Manager

Manages all facets of digital marketing campaigns for Scholastic Teachables, including: email, social media, display, web, scholastic.com, internal, and SEM for customer Acquisition, Retention, and Winback for Teachers. Assists with Teacher Resources social media.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Individual Subscriptions for Teachers

Marketing Strategy

  • Works with Director of Marketing to plan and execute all digital marketing, including: email, social media, display, website, scholastic.com, SEM, and internal ad campaigns for acquisition & retention, and Winback with a focus on the Teacher market.

  • Writes and develops copy and design and/or the creative briefs for each of the above mentioned campaigns for both Teacher (and sometimes Parent) markets

  • Manages the copy and design approval process for all assets created and is the main point person for the designated designer

  • Works with internal teams and/or outside agencies for email, social media, SEM, and display network campaigns

  • Develops and manages marketing calendar and scheduling for each channel

  • Manages and submits required forms for internal and social ad campaigns

  • Reviews and helps make decisions on new marketing proposals

  • Generates new ideas, initiatives, and offers for the marketing campaigns and identifies product updates that will increase and/or positively impact acquisition, retention and winback

  • Marketing liaison to editorial team on marketing aspects of select editorial assets

  • Identifies variables to tests for ad campaigns for both markets

  • Assist with execution of certain promotions (i.e. 10 Free Books, Teacher Treats, and Parent Perks)

  • Reaches out to select customers who cancel and schedules calls with them to garner feedback on their experience using Scholastic Teachables to identify opportunities to improve and/or make changes

Data and Reporting

  • Analyzes and reports on performance of all digital channels

  • Assist with marketing reporting presentations for business reviews and updates

  • Identifies trends, opportunities, and/or adjustments to marketing campaigns and website based on data for better optimization

HOW YOU CAN FIT

  • 3-5 years of digital marketing experience

  • Diverse marketing skill set - including acquisition and retention email, PPC, SEM, and SEO campaigns

  • Knowledge and experience with subscription products and ecommerce

  • Experience using analytics to drive decisions, able to execute large-scale email campaigns, an understanding of ecommerce best practices and creative sensibility to produce effective promotions.

  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to write clearly and concisely

  • Keen attention to detail and ability to carefully proof campaigns before they go live

  • Able to liaison with various stakeholders within the company

  • The ability to pay attention to detail and multi-task in a deadline driven environment

  • Knowledge of project management tools, such as Jira

  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills

Key Responsibilities: * Key Responsibilities: * Support the development and deployment of the 1-2 year digital marketing strategy for the US * Manage the strategy and execution performance media, brand media and digital partnerships * Work in partnership on the local email strategy and manage the production of our brand and ecommerce email programming for the US with the Community Specialist * Manage all US performance marketing and brand media efforts, including the local agency relationship * Partner with Central Digital Marketing team to deliver SEO optimization for US site * Support and consult on email list growth and overall program health; deliver strategic campaigns to support program KPIs * Partner closely with all regional teams to ensure streamline communication across all touch points * Focus on creating the optimal customer journey from discovery to conversion, through post-purchase, unique to the needs of a US consumer * Responsible for bringing digital trends, insights and ideas back to the US marketing team and inspiring best-in-class digital leadership across the team * Budget Management * Education, Qualifications and Experience: * Exceptional skills in digital marketing, website management, email marketing, web analytics tools, search, engine marketing (SEM), display media, social media and search engine optimization (SEO) * An undergraduate degree or equivalent education and experience * Experience leading cross functional teams to deliver creative and content deliverables * Abreast of the latest digital trends / technology and constantly learning * 5-7 years' experience managing digital marketing programs * 1-2 years experience managing email marketing programs * 1-2 years managing a media program * Experience with digital marketing best practices that result in customer acquisition, retention and growth * Experience with web analytics tools (one or more of GA, Webtrends, Omniture) * Experience using a CMS and an understanding of the impact they have on SEO * Computer Skills: Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Analytics/BI tools * Knowledge, Skills and Attributes: * Deep understanding of digital marketing * Strong independent decision-making, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills * Strong writing, interpersonal and communication skills * Exceptional attention to detail and committed to a high degree of accuracy * Creativity and demonstrated ability working in a fast paced environment with a high degree of change * Ability to multi- task and work efficiently under pressure * Entrepreneurial spirit * A clear sense of urgency to achieve results.
