As the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism drives a new era of digital media communication and education, we are actively seeking a dynamic and organized professional to join our Creative Media Team as a Computer Services Supervisor, also known as the Digital Lounge Manager.

Job Description:

As the Digital Lounge Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the school's overall Digital Literacy Initiative by overseeing and coordinating the Annenberg Digital Lounge space and its diverse multimedia services. This encompasses managing our helpdesk, workshops, events services, Adobe Certification Course programming, web services, and contributing to technology curriculum development in the Digital Lounge (DL).

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Space Management:

  • Recruit, supervise, and schedule a full-time Digital Lounge Coordinator staff post, and a team of student worker Media Support Specialists for the helpdesk space, ensuring the seamless opening and closing of the facility.

  • Maintain and update procedures and workflows for the helpdesk, workshops, and Adobe Certification programming.

Client Support:

  • Provide software support for students, faculty, and staff.

  • Cultivate a positive, organized, and professional customer service-oriented environment.

Workshop and Event Coordination:

  • Ensure the workshop service portfolio spans key areas like Creative Media, Data Analytics, and Personal Branding.

  • Coordinate and schedule workshops, events, and Adobe Certification courses with internal resources and external vendors.

  • Oversee and run workshops, events, and Certification courses, handling logistics from sign-in to equipment setup and breakdown.

Programming Evaluation and Promotion:

  • Measure programming success through effective data collection and reporting.

  • Collaborate with the team to communicate and promote programming through newsletters, social media, and the Annenberg Digital Lounge website.

Administrative Support and Project Management:

  • Assist with various projects on an as-needed basis, such as administrative support, note-taking, meeting materials preparation, research, and budget management.

  • Track and maintain invoices, billing, timesheets, and budgets.

Technology and Research:

  • Conduct research on new and emerging technologies, making recommendations and generating reports as needed.

Digital Lounge Infrastructure Management and Support:

  • Oversee and manage the digital lounge infrastructure, including web hosting, software distribution solutions, and the department website.

  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the seamless operation and optimization of web hosting services.

  • Implement effective software distribution solutions to meet the diverse needs of the Digital Lounge users.

  • Maintain and update the department website, ensuring it aligns with the goals and initiatives of the Digital Literacy Initiative.

Required Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proven project administration/management experience in an Education and/or IT field.

  • Strong working knowledge of productivity tools, including Microsoft Office, Google Drive/One Drive, and project management tools.

  • Strong working knowledge in Adobe Creative Cloud suite of software.

  • Strong working knowledge in WordPress and other Website Development tools.

  • Graphic design and multimedia creation skills

  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities.

  • Excellent client-facing, written, and oral communication skills.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently on simultaneous projects.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with program development, training, and/or curriculum development.

  • Teaching experience.

  • PMP Certification.

  • Certification with Adobe Creative Cloud.

  • Experience with data analytical software (e.g., Tableau, R, SPSS).

  • Multimedia post-production experience.

  • Web programming skills (HTML/CSS).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Design, Education, IT, or related field. Associates degree and combined education/experience can substitute for minimum education.

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of related professional experience.

Additional Information:

  • This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), exempt staff position.

  • The monthly salary range for this position is $7,300-$7,500. Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education

Minimum Experience: 2 years

Minimum Field of Expertise: Experience in computing environments; specific user support experience with operating systems, microcomputers, networks, LANs, and network software. Supervisory experience.
