REQUIRED: advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in finance, economics, accounting, or a quantitative field such as mathematics, computer science, physics, or engineering; knowledge of the subject matter, including finance theory, fixed-income and derivatives markets, fundamentals of corporate finance, and financial mathematics; at least two years' relevant teaching experience, including experience as a teaching assistant; strong interest in digital teaching and learning in higher education and ability to translate those interests into successful online modules; strong project management, time management, and communication skills; attention to detail; self-motivation; and ability to work independently and as part of a team and to communicate technical concepts and complex models in clear and engaging ways. DIGITAL LEARNING FELLOW, Sloan School of Management, to work closely with Sloan's finance faculty to develop innovative course curricula for residential and online modules leveraging the edX and MITx platforms. The primary focus will be on developing content for the global online MicroMasters in Finance program, a new initiative to advance Sloan digital education strategy.

Will work with faculty and educational staff to advance frontiers of finance pedagogy using modern digital education technologies; engage course development; assist in teaching courses, both virtually and on campus; develop and launch courses on time and to MIT quality standards and ensure that others involved are meeting goals and deadlines for deliverables. Will also actively participate in the Digital Learning Lab Community of Practice and attend regular cross-departmental DLL meetings and work with MITx and edX support services on course development issues that arise during course development.

The Project Manager serves as an integral member of the DEI team, a unit of BU created to address challenges and harness opportunities associated with the transformation of the higher education landscape brought forth by digital learning technologies. Departmental projects include but are not limited to areas of lifelong and professional learning; advising and mentoring; development of portals and communities to strengthen various aspects of Boston University's residential experience and global standing; and experimentation with novel and emergent educational technologies. The ideal candidate would bring to this position a combination of project/program management expertise and high degree of foundational familiarity with trends, best practices and critical challenges in the field of education. The Project Manager reports to and works closely with the Director of the DEI in support of Incubator. Primary Responsibilities * Drawing on best practices of learning design and educational program evaluation, work with the DEI team and project collaborators to determine and understand the scope and needs of projects; create timelines and work plans; review materials and documentation as shared by other members of the project team toward making project resourcing recommendations; plan and prioritize project activities and deliverables; liaise with other departments and teams toward reaching project objectives. * Provide guidance to project teams, drawing on best practices of how to lead and navigate change in the field of digital education, Throughout the course of the project lifecycle facilitate project meetings; track timelines, schedules, budgets and deliverables as needed; monitor project progress; prepare and present project organization and communication documentation, including project plans, agreements and related information. Troubleshoot, adjust priorities and address organizational challenges to maximize collaboration and timely product delivery. * Maintain detailed record of project activities and retain records upon project completion toward determining current and future project resource needs and stakeholder involvement; report on progress as dictated by project demand and make recommendations on current and future course of action; proactively identify and manage issues and risks. * Communicate relevant project information, such as progress status and issues to DEI team, project collaborators and relevant stakeholders. Facilitate and ensure appropriate involvement and communication between individuals and teams as dictated by project demand. * Drive consensus, timely execution of project activities, and achievement of project objectives. Make recommendations for improving team processes. Help ensure project success through creative problem-solving, obstacle removal, facilitation, capacity building and communication, drawing on core values of mutual respect and collaboration. * Other duties as necessitated by project demand. Required Skills * Five or more years of project coordinating or project management experience and a master's degree in education or related field required. Additional project management certification and familiarity with agile development and human-centered design preferred. * Experience working in the field of education, preferably with faculty on educational initiatives. * Critically optimistic approach to organizational change; exceptional organizational and time management skills and experience with continuous process improvement. * High resourcefulness with the ability to make sound judgments often with only partial information. * Exceptional ability to troubleshoot, adjust priorities and proactively tackle organizational challenges to maximize collaboration and timely product delivery. * Strong ability to effectively communicate with various constituencies and stakeholders. * An enthusiastic thrive to create order from chaos; demonstrated commitment to professional honesty, empathy, and ability to build strong relationships that lead to mutually successful project outcomes. * Demonstrated ability to be flexible, highly competent and adaptable to change. * Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a teambased environment. * Experience piloting online courses, educational platforms or tools desired This is a one year position with a possibility of extension.
