This position is primarily for educational or religious purposes and should be used for providing valuable educational experiences for the Intern. It is to give the Intern an opportunity to see how principles and practices learned in their educational institutions are applied in actual work setting. Under general supervision, the Intern performs work as assigned by the department.

This internship position will focus on analyzing and editing record types, as well as correcting existing data within digital records published on FamilySearch platforms.

Qualifications Include:

  • Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.

  • Pursuing a degree or minor in Family History, or a degree in Library Science.

  • Familiarity with the Family History Library Catalog and FamilySearch services.

  • Ability to identify various record types in different languages.

  • Background in Family History or Library Sciences is advantageous.

  • Self-motivated, autonomous, and detail-oriented individuals.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in group settings.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.

This internship position will focus on analyzing and editing record types, as well as correcting existing data within digital records published on FamilySearch platforms.

Other Responsibilities Include:

  • Evaluate record types to determine the most appropriate categorization for specific groups.

  • Utilize internal tools to enhance existing data and ensure accuracy.

  • Work reliably, efficiently, and independently with minimal supervision to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.

  • Concentrate and perform repetitive tasks consistently.
