Job Overview

We are looking for someone with drive, passion, and a competitive spirit to be part of PerkinElmer's commercial team. This inside sales role will specialize in support and promotion of our Life Sciences portfolio. The candidate should understand customer needs across basic science, drug discovery process and in key therapeutic areas. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will also have a basic understanding of Account Based Marketing and driving awareness through digital platforms.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the achievement of revenue and growth targets.

  • Promote awareness of PerkinElmer's new products and/or services.

  • Promote PerkinElmer full solution vision across various workflows and applications.

  • Build long-term account strategies to grow business within the region.

  • Work closely with Marketing partners to utilize resources to generate awareness as well as generate early stage leads.

  • Execute on Field Marketing-based initiatives for new and existing customers.

  • Understand research/therapeutic area trends as well as account trends within the region

  • Work with other sales teams and business functions to promote PerkinElmer solutions

Basic Qualifications

  • BS in the life sciences is required
  • 1-3 years of prior selling experience or an equivalent alternative experience may include Field Applications, Project/Product management, Marketing, or other functions in the Life Science Market

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a laboratory setting performing basic science, drug discovery research, immunoassays, assay development, and a focus on microplate-based applications is preferred.

  • Strong communication skills

  • Proficient with social media platforms

  • Ability to work well cross-functionally and with a variety of business functions.

  • Passion to stay current with new technologies and applications in the life science market.

  • Ability to quickly learn and understand PerkinElmer's Life Sciences broader portfolio

  • Willingness and proficiency to prospect for leads through social media and other digital methods.

  • General knowledge of CRM systems is preferred. experience is a plus.

  • Highly effective time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities: * Establishes relationships with customers by assisting walk-in and phone customers, representing the company in a professional manner. * Processes, pulls and distributes customer products quickly and efficiently. * Understands the needs of the customers and learns their buying habits and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions. * Educates customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction. * Provide product demos to qualified customers on request. * Accurately performs data entry of sales orders to generate an invoice of products ordered to be picked up or delivered. Secures payment of invoice with proper funds or obtain credit authorization in accordance with company policy. * Assists the customer in checking and loading merchandise purchased at the counter. * Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of vendor's production and delivery schedules. * Makes follow-up calls to potential and existing customers to solicit additional business. * Handles questions and complaints in a timely and professional manner. * Evaluates and determines disposition of warranty items handled at the counter, as prescribed by the manufacturer's warranty policy and customer needs. * Maintains neat, professional product displays, changing displays once monthly. * Promotes monthly sales specials. * Assists in receiving, shipping, and general warehouse duties. Requirements: * High school diploma or GED. * 1+ years related inside sales experience. * The ability to move 100 pounds with a dolly. * Strong counter "presence" and the ability to deal directly with customers for a large portion of the day. * Strong customer-service attitude. * Self-motivated and detail-oriented personality. * Good computer skills including MS Office programs. * Ability to work in a fast paced environment dealing with inventory, product allocations and customer issues. * Familiarity with a related product line such as pool supplies, parts, chemicals or pool construction helpful. * Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
