Position Information

The Digital Design Specialist is a member of the interactive marketing and communications team and will be tasked with providing support to assigned services lines and projects to meet the goals of the organization as defined by the strategic plan. The Specialist will support all activities of the department with a primary focus on design to be used for our digital marketing channels.

The Digital Design Specialist will design and implement programs to engage consumers and patients in order to further the marketing goals of WakeMed. This role will focus on interactive design and requires experience with digital platforms, and the ability to develop strategies that will maximize reach, impact and effectiveness of message delivery through digital marketing campaigns. Responsible for supporting the team with web site content, organization and design in support of marketing objectives to achieve desire brand and service line positioning for our various target audiences.


Experience Requirements:

5 Years Graphic Design and Digital Content Production Required

Education Required:

Bachelor's Degree Marketing Or Graphic Design Required



Search Engine Optimization Preferred

Hours of Work: Monday - Friday; 8:30 - 5:00

VIEW JOBS 11/16/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-14T00:00 Job Description Hiring Range: $43,981.00 - $53,000.00 (Promotional Hiring Range may vary) This class is the first level in a three-level Communications Series devoted to creating, producing, and disseminating visual, digital, written, and spoken information about the City and, more specifically, the City Planning Department. This is a multi-dimensional position requiring communications specialization, graphic design, data visualization and web content management. Areas of work may include: branding, graphics, communications, interaction, research/strategic, or environmental design for print media or digital delivery. Primary responsibilities include the creation of visual communication material such as brochures, reports, posters, fliers, and social media content in adherence with Raleigh's branding protocol. Duties and Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Meet with Business Partners, Art Director, or internal clients to evaluate department project needs * Design and produce printing materials and delivery visual elements to internal clients * Create and optimize images for print and web usage * Plan concepts based on information and materials * Collaborate with other designers in projects, campaigns, and event production * Present concepts and final documents for approval; make necessary revisions to produce final design * Create visuals to display important data and key information for print and digital delivery * Deliver print-ready and review final documents before production * Create HTML templates for emails and web pages * Maintain personal knowledge of current trends and best practices of design * Take and retouch photographs for print and digital display * Attend workshops and certification courses * Track workload through our project management system * Maintain records and files according to department procedures * Other related responsibilities that align with the goals of the City and the Planning Department Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Typical Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in public relations, communications, public affairs, or directly related field and two years of public communications experience such as writing, editing, graphic design and layout, and/or communications planning. OR An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation. Licensing/Certifications Valid Driver's License may be required Additional Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates who display strong skills in data analysis and data visualization. Exceptional candidates will also have experience with a DSLR camera, as well as familiarity with basic photo composition concepts and basic photo retouching/toning in either Photoshop or Lightroom. The ability to do architectural, event, and quick portrait photography is a plus.
