Position Summary:

The Digital Gaming Accounting Manager will support the day-to-day accounting and reporting activities for the digital sports betting and iGaming business. In this role, the individual will be a key contributor in the accounting and regulatory reporting process and will support the continuous improvement of processes and growth of the digital business. A successful candidate will exhibit a keen attention to detail, strong finance & business instinct and the ability to work both efficiently and effectively in an ever-changing environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:includes but not limited to:

Understands, manages, and administers digital division's revenue share calculations per negotiated contracts and ensures partner revenue share calculations are accurate
Compiles and submits revenue and gaming tax reports to state gaming regulators and state departments of revenue
Provides daily revenue reports detailing performance of digital sports betting and iGaming operations to the President, Digital Gaming and the MGE CFO
Prepares monthly account reconciliations to validate the completeness and accuracy of GL account balances
Determines recognition of revenues (principal vs. agent) relating to sportsbook and I gaming contracts in accordance with ASC 606
Prepares financial statements for this business segment
Complies with all accounting and financial reporting internal controls as required by internal policy as well as outside agencies and governing bodies
Develops and maintains relationships with casino property accounting & finance teams to support the accounting and administrative functions of digital sports betting and iGaming operations
Enhances and maintains knowledge and understanding of rules and regulations as promulgated by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, the Securities and Exchange Commission, state departments of revenue and state gaming commissions

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

Posts journal entries to record business transactions
Works closely with Corporate Accounting Manager to meet deadlines in connection with the monthly closes
Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters
Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs
Assists with other ad hoc accounting and finance projects as needed

Strong technical accounting knowledge

Training Requirements:

MGE corporate and department policies and procedures
Appropriate regulations that pertain to MGE information systems
MGE budget planning and analysis process and procedures

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Office work environment
Must be able to sit in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time
Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours with occasional travel required

Responsibilities include the close process for Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment (MGE) and all corporate entities, including the consolidation, intercompany eliminations and required translations in accordance with U.S. GAAP. This position is also responsible for tax remittances and related filings, corporate accounts payable, corporate payroll, the design of internal accounting controls over financial reporting, and coordinating the global close schedule, including review of submitted financial statements. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to: Prepares, reviews and distributes all internal daily and monthly financial reports in accordance with U.S. GAAP Prepares the consolidation and required elimination entries Ensures overseas books are converted to U.S. GAAP and translated from functional currency to USD Ensures the timely and accurate monthly and annual close process for MGE and all corporate entities Coordinates global close schedule Maintains global general ledger chart of accounts and underlying financial reporting system Assists in the research of relevant authoritative guidance and technical accounting issues Responsible for quarterly and annual supporting schedules required by external auditors Reviews and enforces internal accounting controls over financial reporting and assurance of compliance with SOX Secondary Duties and Responsibilities: Ensures department policies and procedures and training manuals are maintained Assists in annual budgeting process Facilitates external and internal audits Provides coaching and mentorship to corporate accounting staff Assists in the preparation of financial statements and related footnotes in accordance with U.S. GAAP Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position: Knowledge of ERP and financial reporting overlay systems High level of familiarity with the Company's operations Knowledge of MGE's budget planning and analysis process Effective utilization of MGE evaluation programs Thorough understanding of the Mohegan Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) as it relates to employment Training Requirements: MGE corporate and departmental policies and procedures Must completed all appropriate Human Resources Manager Training courses Knowledge of Infinium software, including general ledger, accounts payable, project accounting and fixed asset modules Knowledge of financial reporting software, Prophix, Cognos, BI and other financial software for project tracking Ongoing training on accounting practices (including meeting CPA continuing education requirements as applicable) Physical Demands and Work Environment: Must be able to work in a fast-paced office work environment with strict deadlines Must be able to sit in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time Travel may be required for meetings and/or conferences Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours This is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, requirements or working conditions associated with this job.
