Who we're looking for

Toyota Motor North America has embarked on an important mission to become the leader in cybersecurity for global mobility. We are making significant investments to enhance our capabilities through resource levels, talent development, process maturity, and technology enablement.

We are looking for an individual who has a deep understanding of digital forensics and the features and capabilities of operating systems, file systems, and network protocols to support investigation of security, privacy, and policy incidents. The position interacts with other security stakeholders, legal, and business leaders and must offer objective and professional analysis and response to security incidents. Define policy, standard procedures and performs necessary steps to ensure necessary digital artifacts are properly collected, analyzed, and archived. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, good communication skills (written and verbal), and expert-level technical skills.

What you'll be doing

  • Ability to exercise and mentor others on solid professional judgment and security-related ethics

  • Report common and repeat problems (trend analysis) to management and propose process and technical improvements

  • Stay abreast of latest vulnerabilities, exploits and other relevant threat-related information

  • Ability to assume ownership of, and provide; monitoring, tracking and communication of security incidents and requests

  • Internal development of DFIR policies and procedures

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience

  • Digital forensics experience

  • Incident response experience

  • Experience at handling security incidents and threats that have the potential to introduce risk to sensitive/confidential data

  • Detailed understanding of OS internals related to monitoring and threat detection covering Windows, Linux, and OSX

  • Experience using open source tools such as Remnux, Radare, The Sleuth Kit, Kali, Volatility, Rekall

  • Experience using commercial tools such as EnCase, Redline, Ida Pro, Hopper, Binary Ninja

  • Experience to deobfuscate and/or conduct basic cryptanalysis of potentially malicious content

  • Experience doing behavioral and static malware analysis

  • Experience using scripting languages such as Perl, Python and PowerShell

  • Experience with compliance regulations/laws, security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, ISO, COBIT, OWASP OR ITIL)
