The Six Flags Corporate Interactive Marketing team seeks a full-time Digital Editor/Copywriter to oversee, edit, and provide content for our many park newsletters with over 12 million readers. In this role you'll also provide and edit content for our websites, coordinate with park marketing teams and corporate departments to provide content for online Pass Portals.
Oversee, write for and produce every aspect of 17 bi-weekly digital newsletters with a reach of over 12 million subscribers.
Manage each park's editorial calendar.
Prepare up to 20 articles per week on a variety of park-related topics.
Collect and prepare ancillary newsletter content, including calendar entries, images, text advertisements, contests and other relevant materials.
Provide and edit content for sixflags.com and associated microsites.
Develop and execute strategies to leverage content across multiple online mediums.
Cultivate relationship with park marketing teams.
Oversee external copy writers/providers as needed.
Other duties, as assigned.
Stellar writing, editing and proofreading skills. Strong knowledge of AP style. Thorough command of the English language, spelling, writing and grammar.
Proven experience as an editor, copy writer, news writer or similar. Strong marketing, public relations or journalism experience a plus.
Proven experience managing many writing projects simultaneously.
Must be highly motivated, resilient, and resourceful.
Ability to build strong relationships with and support multiple in-house clients.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple, overlapping publication deadlines.
Self-directed, independent problem solver.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing or Advertising
HTML and CSS knowledge a plus, but not required. IT literacy a plus.
Willingness to work long hours, when necessary, to meet deadlines.
Extremely detail oriented and a good project manager.
