As the Digital Content Strategist you would be on the frontlines of this strategy, using our websites to reach, educate and mobilize our supporters to take action.

This is a results-oriented position reporting to the Deputy Digital Director. The Digital Content Strategist will be responsible for writing content for our website and blogs and procuring and editing content from other staff. The position requires an intimate understanding of writing online content. It's a great opportunity to work with an amazing team of professionals and implement the content strategy of one of the largest and most effective environmental organizations in the world.
The Digital Content Strategist will:
Create, develop and manage content for Greenpeace's web sites, including our homepage, blog, writing new content and editing posts from other writers.
Work with our Social Media Manager on content promotion.
Train Greenpeace staff on how to post content and online writing best practices.
Gather and analyze website analytics data and tailor strategy and tactics based on this analysis.
Work across departments and with other international Greenpeace offices on major projects.
Work cooperatively with a highly skilled and passionate team.
Minimum requirements for the Digital Content Strategist include:
5 years writing content for, ideally but not necessarily, an advocacy organization
Knowledge of Wordpress platform and other content management systems
Understanding of writing for search engine optimization
Knowledge of Google Analytics
Basic understanding of HTML
Basic understanding of creating graphics for online use
Ability to work well in a collaborative, geographically distributed team
Experience planning, managing and executing online content strategies
Ability to write impactful and engaging campaign messaging that resonates with our membership
Experience with graphic design and familiarity with programs such as: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Ability to track and analyze online data across email, web and social media platforms.
