What we want

The Digital Content Specialist III manages architectures of websites, including content management system (CMS) and advising/supporting School of Law staff to integrate business processes through web delivery (creating/managing web forms, etc.). Writes web content with working knowledge of SEO. Monitors site activity and makes adjustments and recommendations.

What you need to know

Salary Range: $55,000-$70,000. Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire's experience.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Four years of experience working in website development or digital communications.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with Content Management Systems (such as, Cascade).

  • Strong web writing capabilities, working knowledge of SEO/SEM.

  • Expertise with best practices in information architecture, user-centric design methodology, and usability principles to create an effective user experience.

  • Experience gathering, evaluating, and recommending optimizations based on web data.

  • Working knowledge of web usability and accessibility guidelines.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to write clear, concise documentation, reports, and specifications.

  • Excellent coordination and organizational skills with an ability to address multiple assignments in a demanding environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team utilizing ability to be detail oriented, strong communication skills, and exercising initiative.

  • Ability to use word processing and spreadsheet programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional content development and management experience.

  • Experience with Cascade

  • Familiarity with HTML and open standards in web technologies.

  • Experience with Microsoft 365, specifically SharePoint functionality.

  • Familiarity with Hubspot or other CRM/Email management tools and their web integrations.

Essential Duties/Tasks:

  • Digital Platform Administration
  • Administers and/or completes digital-technology-related work requests submitted by departments, centers, and programs. Coordinates and administers user access control. Creates web-based forms that serve the various needs of the school. Maintains those forms and helps to collect necessary information to be relayed to various digital integrations. Maintains the Site. Improve account to ensure repair and enforcement of broken links, misspellings, accessibility, issues, and content policies. Provides "real time" resolution of "bugs" and user problems based on user requests / reports and communicates the resolution to impacted parties. Monitors, assesses, and reports on website analytics.
  • Content Strategy
  • Develops content strategy, which ensures that each piece of content supports the university's mission and strategic plan and is high quality, useful and effective. Audits web content to identify content gaps and changes needed to improve accuracy, readability, usefulness for readers, accessibility, adherence to style, search engine optimization and overall cohesiveness. Assists with maintaining a schedule that identifies key dates to update specific webpages. Ensures the best placement of digital content for readability. Utilizes SEO tools and services to provide reports and trends as requested by key stakeholders. Manages the maintenance, efficiency, and functionality of the School of Law's digital architecture (website, digital signage, calendar, email marketing and intranet).
  • Content Proofreading, Editing and Maintenance
  • Reviews and edits existing and new web content for readability, accessibility and adherence to editorial style standards. Utilizing SEO data, makes recommendations on content updates. Makes web content updates and corrections. Reviewing and editing digital signage, calendar, email marketing and intranet content for readability, cohesiveness, accessibility and adherence to editorial style standards.
  • Content Creation
  • Writes new digital content to fill content gaps and meet business needs for the school. Creates content for existing and new websites and intranets. Also works with creating content for digital signage, email and other digital content delivery methods as needed. Aligns digital content closely with the school's campaigns.
