The RoleDigital Content Services Technicians are responsible for evaluating all digital deliveries, outputs and derivatives as well as preparing files for delivery to linear and non-linear distribution. They are expected to have knowledge of transcode platforms, file formats, domestic and international media standards, and media asset management. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: Initiating transcodes, reviewing and acting on Auto QC data, as well as tagging and updating associated metadata. Additional focus will be on demonstration efficient communication and computer skills.

1.Perform technical review and database entry of digital content 2. Utilize Media Asset Management system to update metadata and provide reporting as needed3. Audio/Video fault and issue tracking and follow up4. Input/Validate accurate information into Scheduling module5. Monitor internal systems for incoming media requests, including but not limited to standards conversion, file creation, content management and distribution 6. Negotiate, prioritize and manage client expectations for delivery timelines7. Coordinate with internal and external Discovery clients to confirm specific technical requirements8. Knowledge of related standard operation procedures and company policies 9. Initiate and troubleshoot media creation workflows


  • Must possess excellent organization skills, good verbal and written communication skills and proficient in computer usage.

  • Must have a thorough understanding of professional/broadcast HD and SD signal standards

  • Must have a thorough understanding of video resolution, and audio formatting

  • Must have basic understanding of Media files including: file formats, codecs, file size and storage

  • Must have demonstrated experience dealing with immediate deadlines that require problem solving and "on the fly" critical analysis

  • Must be self-motivated, highly organized, detail oriented, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines in a team environment

  • Able to work independently and within a team

  • Must maintain professional attitude, demeanor and relationship with DCI management, co-workers and staff at all times.

  • This position is considered an essential position. This means that during times of inclement weather, emergencies, or when access to the workplace may be impeded, that employees in this position are expected to report to work to support business continuance, unless otherwise instructed by his/her direct manager.

  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication Arts or Radio/TV/Film preferred * 2 to 3 years experience with various encoding processes, editing and signal routing in a broadcast/post production environment is highly desirable.

  • Experience with Avid, Final Cut and Adobe Creative Suite preferred

  • Experience with media file transfer and sharing workflows preferred

Oversees, analyzes and provides insight on brand inventory and its performance tracking on multiple fronts. Act as main contact for network strategy and communicate updates to all departments as necessary. Oversee content budget and work closely with finance to ensure network is working within financial targets. Responsibilities 1. Work with GM and VP Programming and Strategy on all strategic and business planning. Includes building presentations for Board of Directors and senior management, creation of ad-hoc business strategy presentations as well as special projects. Includes preparation of all materials.2. Work with GM and VP Programming and Strategy to articulate and communicate on a regular basis TRVL's network strategy and priorities to the team and senior management.3. Work with Finance on network P&L and long-range strategic planning. 4. Act as liaison with DNI on all issues related to the partnership and brand building.5. Work across network teams to develop and communicate annual goals and tactics. Throughout the year, ensure goal alignment and/or make adjustments as needed. 6. Develop weekly updates for GM and drive the agenda during Dept Head meetings.7. Work with senior team to create and manage network team offsites, post mortems and other key network events.8. Work closely with research to develop and drive focus group testing of shows, concepts, and/or brand related inquiries.9. Work with Scheduling to develop and implement program schedule that supports network strategy and results in the highest possible ratings and performance.10. Develop and execute digital and GO strategy working closely with the digital team.11. Negotiates for resources and priorities, with senior management and partners, that affect functions performance.12. Makes recommendations regarding potential usage of assets on hiatus or those that need to be retired. Performs quarterly asset impairment review of brand's programming still in amortization.13. Identifies programming that may need to be retired &/or written off in order for management to determine final action.14. Consults with or assists Business Affairs and Legal as needed, including program restrictions, inquiries or issues with programming. Adds pertinent information to the e-search database to alert other potential users in multiple media platforms.
