Digital Content Coordinator

  • Do you have experience with developing and maintaining social media, and creating content across various digital platforms?
  • Are you a self-starter with excellent communication skills?
  • Would you enjoy working in a student-centered environment and supporting and mentoring students?

The Digital Content Coordinator will be responsible for planning, developing, and executing a diverse range of content across multiple digital platforms, including websites, social media channels, and digital newsletters. A significant focus will be on video production, creating high-quality, engaging video content that effectively tells the story of the Gamecock student experience. As a storyteller at heart, the Digital Content Coordinator will craft engaging and relevant content that enhances the Gamecock student experience and fosters a vibrant campus community.

Day to Day for this position:

  • Develop and implement a social media strategy for the division

  • Coordinate the division's social media presence

  • Create multimedia content including videos, graphics and photographs

  • Lead and mentor student workers

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 1 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field. Experience in digital content creation and management, particularly within higher education or a similar setting. Experience with social media graphic design, video production, and photography.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Proficiency with digital media software tools and platforms, including content management systems and social media platforms. Ability to lead a team, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines. Strong understanding of digital analytics and their application to content strategy.

Job Duties

Job Duty

Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with the division's overarching digital goals. Coordinate the division's social media presence, ensuring consistent, timely, and engaging communication across all platforms.

Assist in the design and maintenance of the division's websites and newsletters, ensuring content is current, accurate, and user-friendly. Coordinate with various offices to manage their website content and ensure staff have appropriate access.
