Purposes

The purpose of this position is to review and approve the editing and proofreading of online content, ensuring that website appearance meets established guidelines and provides users with critical information. Additionally, the specialist coordinates online appearance, descriptions, communications, and content creation. The specialist coordinates with PSD and other relevant departments and coordinates the use of assets with other channels to ensure content has Intellectual Property approval.

The Digital Communications Specialist helps to create physical and digital products for various channels. This role coordinates content creation and helps to evaluate product effectiveness and strategy for a variety of internal and external facing messaging products.

This role helps to foster self-reliance, care for the poor and needy, and provide opportunities for giving and service by: helping members become economically and emotionally self-reliant, providing access to essential food and clothing items, helping members prepare for and respond to disasters, and providing humanitarian aid to relieve suffering, thus furthering the mission of the Church.

Responsibilities

  • Create, coordinate, and monitor content development under the direction of product managers and subject matter experts.

  • Provide expertise in video content messaging for social as well as large campaigns

  • Accelerate web content delivery by managing and contributing to content delivered through social channels, external websites, as well as print and training material.

  • Manage web content and social media creation from idea generation to publication.

  • Develop web packages for publication; ensure final product meets initial specifications; manage workload/flow and prioritization of work.

  • Partner with product managers to create specified work.

  • Ensure consistent messaging with all products in the division or department.

  • Provide content strategy recommendations.

  • Ensure sites follow content best practices (SEO, media optimization, visual style guide, intellectual property, and Church correlation standards).

  • Develop product communication and marketing or messaging materials.

  • Prepare succinct product presentations.

  • Gather product content requirements from business unit stakeholders.

  • Coordinate with Publishing Services Department in following the Content Publishing Process (Generate Ideas, Define products, Plan Production, Create, Implement, Measure and Maintain).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in communications, marketing, English, digital media, or related disciplines.

  • 1-4 years of related experience in content strategy, content management, social media management, or digital production where media writing, editing, video creation, or web management skills were used and developed

  • Good analytical skills; excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Energetic and enthusiastic; self-starter

  • Second language or international experience preferred

  • Prior experience with content management systems desired

  • Prior video content project or management experience preferred

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred

Worthiness Qualification

Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.

A Job Coach Trainer exists to support the mission and purpose of the Welfare Department and the Division of Deseret Industries. The Job Coach Trainer plays a critical role in the training of DI Associates and in managing daily store operations. These critical roles may include: 1) Training and development of Associates, 2) Opening and closing of DI Stores, 3) Management of store sections (receiving dock, processing area, sales floor, Cashiers, etc...) Additional areas of training and development include: a) Dress standards, b) Hygiene in the workplace, c) Proper work behaviors, d) Time keeping, e) Work ethics, f) Specific skills training, g) Vocational training, h) Performance management. The Job Coach Trainer is an essential player in day-to-day store operations and is pivotal in the successful training, development and eventual placement of Training Associates in viable, self-sustaining work environments within the communities they serve. Job Coach Trainers are responsible for ensuring that day-to-day store operations run smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities * Supervise and coach 15 Associates (25-36 annually), who may have a wide range of disabilities or circumstances preventing them from achieving self reliance on their own. Primary, daily contact and source of help for all Associates. - (ongoing) * Schedule work for all Associates. * Teach Associates standard store operating procedures, plus proper Health and Safety practices and standards and ensure understanding and compliance. * Job Placement activities to obtain regular employment outside of Deseret Industries for all Associates. These areas will include: resume writing, interview & job searching skills, communication, team building, leadership, and self reliance skills, etc. * Provide education, training and intervention into all verbal, physical, intimidating and harassing situations. - (ongoing) * Train and supervise Associates enrolled in advanced skills training. * Teach Best Practice Work Behaviors including time keeping, communication and leadership skills, honestly, reliability, and following instructions. - (ongoing); Evaluate each Associate, at least quarterly. * Coach for improvement in behavior and productivity using specific behavioral modifications techniques. - (ongoing) * Give crucial input to Individual Self Reliance Plans (ISRP) developed for each Associate. * Assist each Associate to complete ISRP as assigned by the Development Manager. * Maintain confidential records of current work and productivity behaviors of all Associates. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in related field of study (Retail/Employee Development) and the equivalent combination of experience and training. * Demonstrated experience in teaching, training, and/or supervision. * Experience working with those who; have a disability (physical and/or mental), or are recovered substance abusers is a plus. Retail experience preferred. * Ability to regularly lift up to 25 lbs., to walk and stand for long periods of time, to bend, twist and climb as needed. * Successful completion of the following training courses in the first 12 months of employment required: 1) Job Coach Trainer's Certification, 2) Development In-Service Training, and 3) Retail In-Service Training.
