The purpose of this job is to coordinate, craft, and execute digital communications strategy for the City of Columbia to connect, communicate, and actively engage with various audiences using social media and digital storytelling. Manages the city's main social media accounts and related management platforms while providing oversight and monitoring for the department and division accounts. Creates, coordinates, and approves digital content.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manages and executes digital communications strategy for the city; aligns social media activities with city-wide calendar to engage community.
Creates, posts, monitors, and responds via social media with useful, compelling, and customized content. Facilitates transparent and consistent engagement with various constituencies.
Collaborates with citywide marketing and communications staff to create and execute targeted strategic social media and digital marketing.
Reviews analytics and creates reports on key metrics to inform stakeholders and guide social media and digital engagement strategies.
Advises city departments on social media and digital engagement strategies/best practices to leverage content across all accounts. Approves overall content/campaigns for all city and department-level digital accounts to ensure consistency of message, tone, voice, and city brand.
Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.

Communicating verbally and in writing to meet the needs of the audience.
Creating and conducting presentations.
