PSECU, a high-tech, progressive financial institution with more than $5 billion in assets, is seeking a Digital Channels UX/UI Design Intern. The purpose of the internship is to provide meaningful, professional hands-on experience to students with proven academic performance and leadership potential. Interns will have the opportunity for meaningful contributions to our business objectives while experiencing personal professional development.

Join PSECU's digital banking team and create high quality digital experiences that are focused on enhancing our members' needs. This position will work with the digital banking team which consists of a broad team of developers, designers and analysts. This position will you'll put your visual, analytical and creative skills to work on projects based on research, analysis and industry best practices.

There is a heavy emphasis on creating visual designs, mockups and prototypes based on smart and informed decisions that move our business goals forward while advocating for our members' needs. Attention to visual details along with basic understanding of human centered design are key to being successful with this position.

Employee Type: Part-time

Starting Salary: $15/hr.

Schedule: Flexible- 20 hrs. week with opportunity for more depending on student schedule

Candidate must be bondable and credit worthy.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES - Essential for this position:

  • Create mockups and interactive prototypes using software such as JustInMind, Sketch, InVision, Moqups, Adobe XD and UXPin

  • Understand user-centered design best practices and principals.

  • Analyze and understand data from various sources such as Google Analytics, SQL, app reviews, user testing, and feedback panels to help create informed and meaningful digital experiences.

  • Attention to visual detail and content consistency.

  • Understand how to use and maintain a design system to keep UI, UX and brand consistency.

  • Basic understanding of designing for digital products (website or mobile applications).

  • Basic understanding of HTML and CSS.

  • Basic understanding of motion, animation and transitions to improve and enhance UX.

  • Clearly explain and defend your ideas, decisions and how they relate to business goals and member experience.

  • Work with digital banking staff to understand business rules.

  • Attend meetings with stakeholders, and other staff as needed.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES - Essential for all PSECU staff:

  • Regular and consistent attendance is required to maintain acceptable performance standards and routine duties of the position within the normal operational guidelines of the unit.

MINIMUM / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

Minimum Experience:

College student enrolled in a Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field, and

Minimum 3.0 GPA,

And has obtained at least 35 credits towards their undergraduate degree.
