The Digital Asset Specialist works closely with the Associate Director of Photography and the Digital Asset Management Specialist to plan, execute and maintain a DAM strategy for the Institution. They also work closely with various stakeholders to maintain compelling, brand-appropriate digital imagery for Institutional Advancement and the Digital Experience Strategy.

Key Functions
1.Digital assets management (DAM):

  • Works with the Associate Director of Photography and the DAM Specialist to develop and maintain the digital assets database originating from our General Photography group and other departments across the institution. Works collaboratively with constituents to implement organizational strategies and optimize DAM workflows. Affects change as needed for centralizing, organizing and streamlining storage of new digital assets from previously unincorporated departments. Manages an organizational structure for all archived photography by maintaining a controlled vocabulary and keyword taxonomies. Maintains patient consent workflow (HIPAA and Media Release forms) for compliant and efficient retrieval.
    2.Image requests:

  • Ensures prompt and accurate response to image requests. Properly vets imagery by ensuring that each released image is compliant with required documentation, copyright information and approvals. Communicates restrictions and terms of use for each. Confirms that all HIPAA and Media Authorization forms are digitized, associated, and stored accordingly for quick reference. Routes third-party and media requests for images through the proper channels.

Other duties as assigned:

  • The Digital Asset Specialist, under the direction of the Associate Director of Photography, will work with our IA teams to produce high quality, compelling and branded photography to support our Digital Experience Strategy. From time to time duties may include the creation of impactful digital imagery as part of the general photography group. Duties may range from events, editorial, to commercial-level photography for print or digital uses. Ensures that images are brand compliant and are edited to the highest standards of quality. Implements quality control of digital assets provided by other photographers.

The job requires excellent interpersonal skills, physical energy and high levels of creativity and productivity. Ensures that multiple jobs on tight deadlines are handled efficiently and on time. Independent planning and creative problem-solving skills are essential in this position.

EDUCATION:

Required: Bachelor's degree in related field.

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Two years of photography, digital imaging, or management of electronic collections.

Preferred: Experience managing a digital archive with Digital Asset Management software would also be a plus.Must have strong communication and analytical skills.
