JOB SUMMARY: PG H109

Reports to the Deputy Executive Director of Shared Services. Performs research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences.

Creates original text and video content, manages posts and responds to followers. Manages company image in a cohesive way to achieve our marketing goals. Stays up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends.

Manages our social media presence ensuring high levels of web traffic and customer engagement. Responsible for all posting to and maintenance of the ECUA Website. Assists in the management of the Official Records program, ensuring compliance with the Public Records Laws of the State of Florida. Works closely with ECUA Counsel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Designs and implements social media strategy to align with business goals. Designs posts to sustain readers' interests.

Sets specific objectives and reports on Return On Investment (ROI).

Generates, edits, publishes and shares engaging content (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news).

Monitors social media and web traffic metrics.

Facilitates appropriate online conversations with customers and responds professionally to queries.

Collaborates with other team members, like public information officer, education programs specialist, human resources and customer service to ensure brand consistency.

Coordinates with Customer Service Department staff to ensure customer inquiries posted on social media are addressed in a timely manner.

Communicates with followers, responds to queries in a timely manner and monitors customer reviews.

Creates engaging text, image and video content.

Oversees design of social media accounts (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures and blog layout).

Maintains website and intranet content postings.

Suggests and implements new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions, campaigns, and competitions.

Stays up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, platforms, design tools and applications ensuring maximum effectiveness.

Responsible for posting of content to ECUA website, as well as maintenance of ECUA website, including ADA compliance.

Attends all Executive Board and Committee meetings.

Assists in the preparation of agenda items, reviews agenda items submitted by department directors for completeness and accuracy, assists in preparation and distribution of agendas and minutes for all Executive Board and Committee meetings.

Assists in maintaining and administering the Official Records in accordance with the Public Records Laws of the State of Florida;

All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, communications, public administration, public relations, or related field and three (3) years of relevant work experience, preferably in the utility industry or public/non-profit sector. (Educational documentation will be requested upon offer of employment.)

Proven work experience as a Social Media Manager or similar position. Familiarity with web design, including ADA compliance. Hands on experience in content management.

Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Licenses and Certifications:

Possession of a valid Driver License.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

Employee is regularly required to use hands, fingers and arms to hold, feel, or reach. Must be able to talk and hear. Visual requirements include close, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

The job requires moderate physical effort and involves frequently viewing a computer screen.

Employee primarily works in a normal office environment with no unpleasant, disagreeable, or hazardous conditions.

Work may require some travel, announced or unannounced overtime work and the ability to respond to call-out work during non-working hours or emergencies.

As a disaster team member, the employee is required to be available to work before, during and after any disaster as directed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/Supplemental Information

Knowledge of:

The principles, techniques, and methods of public information and community relations and of the methods of preparing informational materials and disseminating them through the various media.

Media relations and ability to establish and maintain working relationships with other professionals in the communications field.

Familiarity with web design modifying layout to maintain interest.

Knowledgeable and aware of copyright laws.

Knowledgeable and mindful of ADA Website Compliance.

Solid knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), keyword research and Google Analytics.

English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary; English composition. Techniques of working with the public, board members and company staff.

Photography and the operation of photo applications, camera and/or video equipment.

Modern office methods, practices, and procedures including the operation of standard office equipment and the advanced uses of standardized computer software applications involving texting, data and graphics processing, interpretation, and presentation.

Video production techniques.

Skill In:

Writing effective informational material for a variety of media.

Speaking effectively to various audiences with or without notes.

Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with the press, community groups, business leaders, and government representatives; and in preparing original copy.

Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with Board Members, other agencies, and offices, and meeting and dealing with the general public in an effective, courteous, and cooperative manner.

Interpreting, explaining, and applying applicable laws, regulations, and policies; making sound decisions in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies; assembling and organizing complex data and preparing reports from such data.

Producing and designing digital media with sophisticated and specialized state-of-the-art computer hardware, software and applications including using Adobe products such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat as well as Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and applications specific to the social media realm for content creation and management, such as CANVA.

Operating all contemporary office equipment such as a personal computer, calculator, scanner, recording equipment, and the use of standardized and custom computer software applications involving text and data processing, interpretation, and presentation.

Working independently and/or directing action on complex and confidential executive tasks.

Maintaining complex and sensitive documents and records, assembling and organizing data, and preparing summaries of reports from such records.

Efficient in time management and meeting deadlines, ability to work under pressure and produce accurate results.

Ability to:

Express our company's views creatively and accurately.

Deliver creative content (text, image and video)

Express technical and complex ideas and concepts simply, clearly, and concisely, either verbally or in written form.

Prepare and deliver effective presentations to civic, professional, and community groups.

Take professionally acceptable photographs and to digitally manipulate to produce professional and creative images.

Plan and organize work, prepare schedules, and meet deadlines.

Learn new media software and/or techniques which may include digital imaging, video, audio and other communication media.

Maintain awareness of online marketing channels.

Prepare costs estimates for design materials, write specifications and obtaining vendor bids.

Ability to acquire and maintain State of Florida Notary Public. Knowledge of current Florida notary laws.
