Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team that will perform assessments, develop strategies, and deliver roadmaps to help clients understand their current digital analytics capabilities and opportunities.

  • Lead teams and manage clients through the deployment of digital analytics platforms (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics Premium, etc.) across digital properties including mobile web and apps.

  • Develop measurement strategies that tie organizational objectives to digital measurement solutions and communicate the value of solutions to a senior client audience

  • Manage the strategic deployment tagging for digital analytics, paid media, and 3rd party applications

  • Help businesses evolve organizational processes to better leverage data and insights

The Mars Five Principles – Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency and Freedom – inspire its more than 100,000 Associates to create value for all its partners and deliver growth they are proud of every day.   Job Purpose * The Digital Marketing Technology Senior Manager plays two key roles: 1) creating the global technology strategy and leading the delivery of digital solutions enabling intelligent marketing reach and digital marketing personalization at scale, and 2) partnering with the Mars Wrigley Confectionery segment to create the segment specific digital commerce and digital marketing technology strategy and roadmap. * Partnering with global, cross segment, and market stakeholders, this role will create an aligned product roadmap and technology stack to step change Mars’ digital marketing efforts, driving usage of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party consumer data and analytics to enable targeted marketing campaign activation. * The MWC segment digital strategy will tie to the segment’s business objectives, and deliver growth and efficiency benefits through a global digital demand technology roadmap. This roadmap should be clear, actionable, and tied to agreed funding, and should cover the whole range of digital demand products as well as new segment specific innovations. * The Senior Manager role, through their team of direct reports & partners internal and external to Mars, is responsible for the delivery of both the digital marketing product roadmap, and the MWC segment roadmap.   Key Responsibilities The Digital Marketing Technology Senior Manager is responsible for defining the technology strategy across digital marketing, direct, and indirect ecommerce at the global segment level for Mars Wrigley Confectionery, as well as leading execution of these strategies.   The role is also responsible for defining the product strategy for marketing technology at Mars, and leading execution across all Mars segments.   The Digital Marketing Technology Senior Manager must be able to confidently enter new business conversations with senior business leaders, up to Chief Marketing/Customer Office level. They should be an authoritative voice able to partner and create segment digital demand strategy, and cross segment marketing technology strategy. The Digital Marketing Technology Senior Manager must have demonstrated technical acumen with an ability to understand technology solutions and potential tradeoffs; able to communicate technical concepts to business users and creative teams. Experience in some or all of data management platforms, programmatic media buying, data layer and tagging strategies, marketing automation, and other MarTech tools is required.   The Digital Marketing Technology Senior Manager also works with the business to set the conditions of satisfaction and business KPI’s of any new technology and also (in the reverse) translating broader business initiatives into clear technology objectives and goals.   They should:  • Balance out “fast track” and “slow track” strategies, the need for short term, agile out-of-the-box solutions vs longer term solutions with truly integrated digital architecture. * Think at global and local level: maps regional execution to segment-level business strategy and vice versa * Act with pragmatism, sensitivity to business value of activities and seek to communicate effectively and build trust and influence at all levels. * Pose future technology scenarios and look for innovation opportunities. * Use outside-In thinking (in touch with marketplace, vendors, competition etc.)     Context & Scope * Champion of a culture of collaboration and expediency.  “ASAP” rather than “just in time” * Not be a pure ‘task-master’, but engage and develop people and teams * Must have an eye for detail, but be able to ‘see the forest for the trees’ * Masterful in holding your ground as needed to make sure the team can continue to make progress * Manage and prioritize the product backlog to maximize value delivery, speed, and quality * Manage segment and product budgets * Comfortable facilitating a technical discussion with Architects, Developers and others * Identify solutions and manage vendors, as necessary, to achieve objectives * Provide product governance through typical, and as needed special, ceremonies and artifacts * Able to influence decisions, resources, and work happening outside of Digital Demand * Able to identify risks and issues before they manifest * Ability to execute & coordinate across multiple frameworks (Agile Scrum, Kanban, and Iterative Waterfall) * Ability to translate and clearly communicate status * Ability to create synergies within and outside the team, thinking big picture, beyond the immediate * Be driven and precise in execution * Ability to manage expectations across multiple teams * Ability to act and add value through partnership with the wider team * Ability to embrace and drive change, comfortable with a level of ambiguity   Education & Professional Qualification * Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Engineering / Marketing required * 5+ years of experience defining and managing digital products, preferably with ecommerce solutions * Preferred: 3+ years’ experience managing medium to large sized digital products and projects, using SAFe or Scrum frameworks * Preferred: have varied experience in the past as a BA, QA, and/or Developer (this is not a hands’ on coding position, but having the background will help)   Knowledge/Experience * Experience with CRM, DMP, Data Layer, and Tagging required * Experience with ecommerce/digital marketing and demonstrated ability to drive insight and action * Comfortable with Agile tools such as Basecamp, Visual Studio Team Services, Jira Agile, or VersionOne * Specific hands on experience with Magento, Shopify, DemandWare, CommerceTools, ElasticPath, CloudCraze or other ecommerce tools * Have worked in both Waterfall and Agile environments, but have a preference and passion for Agile * Proficient in deriving insights from digital analytics and applying to product functional roadmap * Ability to see the potential product pitfalls before they become a problem for users and solve these problems * Excellent leadership, negotiation, interpersonal, and presentation skills * Ability to interact with a diverse set of stakeholders * Ability to facilitate efficient and effective decision making * Ability to travel 30-50%   #LI-GD1 Mars is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
