The registered dietitian (RD) is responsible for the nutritional assessment and intervention of acute care hospitalized patients. The RD recommends appropriate medical nutrition therapy based on patient's diagnosis, nutrition focused physical exam and overall health status.
Identifies the proper nutrition regimen and places order in the medical record. Communicates plan of care to all responsible parties. Educates staff, patients, family and significant others on nutrition plan of care.
Documents findings, orders, interventions in the electronic health record. Supports best practice standards of care by utilizing evidence based practice guidelines. Provides ongoing mentoring and education to the patient care team.
Takes a leadership role by sharing experiences and problem solving skills to facilitate individualized interventions and optimize care.
Develops performance improvement initiatives and collaborates with departmental leadership to evaluate outcomes. Estimated salary range for this position is $61140.31 - $79482.40 / year depending on experience.
Licenses & Certifications: Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) CDR Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist Additional Qualifications:
Master of Science in Nutrition or health science related field required. Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Commission on Dietetic Registration and Florida State licensure (LD/N). Board certified in area of nutrition related specialty. This position requires direct patient care through assessment, intervention and care planning.
Years of experience must be obtained in a hospital clinical setting. The following proven skills are expected, include excellent verbal/written communication, critical thinking, basic computer, and service excellence. Minimum Required Experience: 5 years
