Diversicare operates 76 centers in ten states primarily in the Midwest, Southeast and Southwest. As Diversicare team member, you will play an instrumental role in the care of our patients and residents, our most important responsibility. Establishes departmental regulations and procedures in conformance with administrative policies.
Determines quality and quantity of food required, plans menus and controls food costs; works closely with consultant dietician.
Maintains appropriate documentation in resident medical records; participates in care planning.
Selects, orients, and trains new employees in department; provides counseling to staff and institutes disciplinary measures as needed; completes performance evaluations on schedule.
Develops and directs cost control system; prepares and submits department budget to administrator.
Develops standards for organization and supervision of dietary services.
Makes frequent inspections of all work, storage and serving areas to determine that regulations governing dietetic activities are followed.
Recommends and/or institutes changes in policies or procedures to achieve optimum operation of dietary department.
Maintains appropriate documentation in resident medical records; participates in resident care planning.
Maintains effective relationships with residents and families, medical staff and with all staff in facility.
Effectively delegates authority to department supervisor staff to ensure effective flow of materials and services
Attends professional meetings and conferences to keep abreast of current practices and trends in the field of dietetics and nutrition; provides dietary education and counseling for residents; presents dietary education program to dietary and other staff, as required.
Ensures safe work procedures are developed and followed, to include those relating to employee injuries, prevention, and infection control.
Ensures a Continuous Quality Control Improvement Program is in place and that appropriate follow-up occurs.
Meets State requirements for certification.
Must be a certified dietary manager.
Food services supervisory experience in the long term care setting is preferred.
