Wekiva Springs Behavioral Health Center is located in Jacksonville, Florida near Butler Boulevard and I-95. Our customized, holistic approach to wellness includes such multidisciplinary treatment options as medical and psychiatric evaluations, nutritional education, family therapy, group therapy (including experiential and educational groups), medication management and discharge planning.

Wekiva Springs Center is seeking a hard-working, customer-service oriented candidate for a Fulltime - Dietary Cook. The duties for this position includes the following:

  • Preparation and service of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals for patients and facility staff according to the approved menu cycle and production sheets.

  • The overall cleanliness of the kitchen and the monitoring of kitchen aides for the cleaning of the dining room.

  • Assist in storing food

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have the following:

  • Prefer a High School Diploma or GED

  • Must be able to understand and follow written and oral instructions

  • Must have previous 6-months commercial dietary working experience preferably in a healthcare inpatient facility

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Able to work between 6a to 6:30p

  • Must be available to work every other weekend

  • Strong desire to be a part of the team

As Signature HealthCARE Dietary Cook, you will be responsible for: * Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives that improve the customer experience, enhance work flow, and/or improve the work environment. * Prepare and cook resident meals in quantities according to menu and number of persons served. * Prepare meals according to proper methods and cooking temperatures for best utilization and yield of meats and other foods. * Clean work area and equipment in accordance with sanitation requirements. * Taste, smell, and observe all foods prepared to confirm with recipes, and good taste and appetizing appearance. * Consistently prepare meals on time so that serving schedules are met. * When Supervisor is not available Cooks will be responsible for monitoring the shift for employees in the kitchen Requirements for Consideration include: * High school diploma or GED required or equivalent related work experience. * Minimum of one (1) year related experience in preparing foods in large quantities. * Effective verbal and written English communication skills. * Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality. * Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives.
