The Meadows Psychiatric Center is a 119 bed inpatient behavioral health hospital located in Centre Hall, PA. The Meadows is seeking a full time- Dietary Aides to work as needed shifts scheduled either 6am to 2pm shift or 10am to 7pm shift to join our team. The pay for this position is commesurate with experience and this position is eligible for a merit increase based upon performance following the completion of a 90 day introductory period. We are seeking team members who will take pride in providing our patients and staff with satisfying and nutritious meals. Team members are required to participate in rotating weekend and holiday shifts to ensure our patients have a great meal experience every day of their stay with our hospital.
Dietary Aide team members are responsible for the following: Assisting with preparing the fresh/salad bar, preparation and packaging of food items, maintaining and adequate supply of beverages, portioning and serving patients and staff in the cafeteria serving line, delivering meals as needed to patient units, ensuring the cafeteria and dining room remain clean at all times, assisting in the dish room as needed,completing required temperature logs, organizing and unpacking stock, assisting the cook staff as required and ensure the re-stocking kitchen necessities on each unit, condiment bar or as required and stocking cafeteria with needed items including but not limited to napkins, eating utensils, cups, plates and other related items.
Cook-Dietary Aide team member require:
Excellent time management skills
Understanding and committment to followling established guidelines for sanitation and safety
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
Ability to read and record temperatures in order to maintain required records and comply with food safety & sanitation requirements
A minimum of six months dietary aide/food serving experience
Excellent food measurement, portioning, and food presentation skills
Interact well with patients and staff in the serving line providing good customer service and offer assistance when needed
Encourage a team oriented environment in the department as well as with all employees of the hospital
ServSafe Certification is a plus; if not ServeSafe certified we are willing to train you
Prevoius food services work in a health care or institutional setting is preferred
