Prepares snack carts for each unit; dips cottage cheese, applesauce and jello; makes salads and desserts for next day's lunch items; dips vanilla pudding for nurses for med pass; assists chef as needed; pours juices and milks; prepares thickened liquids; helps set-up trayline for meals. Prepares trays during trayline (e.g., silverware, condiments, desserts, salads, ice creams, hot and cold drinks, tray aides) and ensures accuracy of each tray; provides meal service to any of the three dining rooms as needed. Operates dishwasher (e.g., washes dishes, trays, pots and pans, pitchers, silverware); pulls and puts away clean dishes using cross contamination precautions; wipes down food carts; cleans out dishwasher after dishes are done; shuts down dishwasher at end of shift; takes out trash. Cleans (e.g., sweeps and mops kitchen floor, including stock room and chemical room, wipes down countertops, scours sinks, wipes down all carts, follows daily cleaning list, cleans walls, ceilings, hoods and juice nozzles); sets up the dining room for the next meal (e.g., silverware, glasses, mugs, linen napkins and tablecloths, placemats when linens not used). Delivers carts to halls, takes orders from residents and/or collects menu selections. Attends all mandatory education and in-services (i.e., team training, safety, infection control, etc.); completes mandatory health requirements. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. Employee performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital's and department's Ethics and Compliance program and is responsible to detect, observe and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, or upward through the chain of command, the Compliance Officer, or the hospital hotline.

Requirements

High School education or equivalent training or work experience in food service.
