Thermo King Northeast currently has a full-time Diesel Technician opening at our location in Windsor Locks, CT.

Compensation of $27.00 - $34.00/hour.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and service inspections on a variety of medium and heavy duty vehicles

  • Performs diagnostic and repair work on all types of vehicles

  • Follow established technical & administrative processes

  • Complete repair orders & parts usage forms

  • Communicate effectively with supervisor, team members, & customers

  • Remain current on technical & regulation requirements

  • Perform road service calls as required

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma, technical school or equivalent

  • Minimum of one-year experience in the field of automotive, truck or bus repair

  • Owns & maintains the proper hand tools to perform job functions

  • Proficient with computer operation/usage

  • Valid drivers license

  • Reliable / Motivated / Strong Work Ethic / Can-do Attitude

  • Be vaccinated or tested for COVID-19 per Connecticut Governor's Executive Orders 13D & 13G

Performs basic diagnostics to identify source of trouble and makes necessary adjustments to equipment for safe and efficient operation 3. One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred Must possess necessary tools to perform assigned tasks Valid driver's license may be required depending on work assignment Knowledge of the use and operation of testing equipment, gauges and tools associated with vehicle troubleshooting and repairs Basic computer skills including maintenance programs, and diagnostic systems Basic knowledge of gas and diesel engines Familiarity with precision measurement instruments, oxygen/acetylene equipment, and lifting devices (bottle, floor, wheel, or transmission jacks, floor cranes, etc.) preferred.
