We are looking for a highly skilled Heavy Equipment/Diesel Technician who has the ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment with safety as the number one priority. A well-qualified applicant will have a minimum of 4 years work experience that includes a well-rounded skill set that demonstrates continuing education/certifications. Applicants chosen to participate in the interview process should be ready to discuss the following various standards of practice in regards to; 1. Preventative maintenance. 2. Basic diesel engine function, diagnostics and repair. 3. Electrical and Hydraulic system diagnostics and repair. 4. Air brake system diagnostics, maintenance and repair. 5. Chassis, maintenance and repair. 6. Wheels and Tires.

Wage: $28.00-$40.00-Hour, qualification dependent.

Shift: Variable as needed.

Location:448 Spring Hammock Ct, Longwood, FL 32750

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe workspace.

• Ability to read and understand both written and oral instructions and provide feedback on same as necessary.

• Ability to build and maintain concise and accurate records of work using Fleetio or equivalent electronic DVIR and work request systems.

• Ability to use computer based diagnostic tools to troubleshoot vehicle/equipment error codes.

• Ability to perform PM's on commercial trucks.

• Ability to read and understand both electrical and hydraulic schematics and make repairs to each system.

• Ability to diagnose and repair machines/equipment components.

• Ability to diagnose and repair A/C systems, certification in A/C is a plus. Must have the ability to be certified if not currently certified.

• Ability to diagnose and repair diesel engines, specifically both Cummins and Detroit.

• Commercial (air) brake diagnostics, adjustments, repairs and replacement of components. Must have the ability to be certified if not currently certified.

• Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users.

Requirements and skills is addition to above.

• Proven experience as Mechanic (4 years or more). Must provide at least 1 job reference from the past 6 years.

• Must provide own tools for use.

• Must adhere to all established policies and procedure including health and safety guidelines.

• Must have good attitude and attendance practices.

• High school diploma preferred or acceptable documented GED. Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus.

• Valid certification (ASE) is preferred.
